Big Little Lies star Zo Kravitz shares what she knows about season 3. Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty, season 1 of the HBO series fully adapted the novel, and received critical acclaim. Season 1's success led to HBO greenlighting season 2, with Moriarty providing a story for a continuation that seemingly brought the series to a satisfying conclusion. Season 2 being the end was no longer the case after series star and executive producer Nicole Kidman confirmed that Big Little Lies season 3 was in the works.
While speaking with People, Kravitz acknowledges that she knows "nothing" official about season 3, but is nevertheless "excited to do it." The stories of Kravitz's Bonnie Carlson and Big Little Lies' other characters appear to still be in early stages of development, as Kravitz explains that "I'm waiting to see, like everybody else, the third season that's happening ... waiting by the phone,...

Years after its first season premiered, a lingering question on Big Little Lies is why Amabella (Ivy George) lies about Ziggy (Iain Armitage) bullying her. Set within an affluent California community, the show teases a murder mystery in its opening moments, suggesting this world is not as perfect as it seems on the surface. However, most of the drama in Big Little Lies season 1 comes from Amabella's storyline, as it's revealed she's being harmed by someone, and she accuses one of her classmates. Along with creating tension within the community, the truth behind Amabella's bully on Big Little Lies links to one of the show's darker storylines.
While there were plenty more questions to be answered by the end of Big Little Lies season 2, the first season storyline with Amabella was both relatable and disturbing for featuring such a young child.

Jaclyn Bethany’s tale of a New Year’s Eve shindig sets up promising storylines that go nowhere in laborious and muddy fare
It would be great to say that this lo-fi movie from Mississippi film-maker Jaclyn Bethany, set in a single location at a small-town New Year’s Eve party, was an indie find. Sadly it’s like a flabbily conceived and impossibly indulgent student film, and the meta-level of reality disclosed at the end is supercilious; it adds nothing to this unfunny and laborious piece of work with its muddy lighting, flat sound design and torpid, almost indistinguishable performances. However, the appearance of child actor Ivy George, playing a little girl who’s been sent by her family to complain about the party’s noise (and concealing a hidden motive) does pep things up a little.

“Will somebody give a woman a moment?!” Laura Dern’s Renata Klein roaringly implored last summer – and she got her wish, you could say. After winning Best Limited Series/TV Movie Supporting Actress for playing Renata on “Big Little Lies’” first season in 2017, Dern returns to the Emmys this year for the acclaimed HBO series, but in Best Drama Supporting Actress as she contends for its second installment. On her eighth career nomination, the actress is gunning to accrue her second victory just three years after snagging her first with a little help from her episode submission to Emmy voters, “Tell-Tale Hearts,” the season’s second outing.
When we meet Renata in the first season, she is unbridled, snooty and forthright, married to her wealthy husband Gordon (Jeffrey Nordling) and living a most luxurious lifestyle in her glamorous Monterey home. At the same time, she’s an uber-protective, concerned mother...

The Killer Therapy trailer is finally here. Fitness guru turned filmmaker Barry Jay is back with a new horror story. Jay previously released the highly acclaimed Ashes in July and went straight to work on his latest offering, which is one of the most buzzed about titles at this year's Afm. Jay was able to convince some horror icons to join the cast of his latest project including Return of the Living Dead alum Thom Mathews and Adrienne King from Friday the 13th.
In addition to Thom Mathews and Adrienne King, Killer Therapy also stars P.J. Soles (Halloween), Daeg Faerch (Rob Zombie's Halloween), Michael Qeliqi, Elizabeth Keener, and Ivy George. The movie explores the disturbing thoughts and ensuing therapy sessions of a young man named Brian, who doesn't seem to have gotten what he needed from his life-long therapy sessions. Things get ugly pretty quickly in the first look at the movie.

Rellik Pictures has released the first look at Barry Jay’s Killer Therapy. The latest scream from the director of Ashes and executive producer of Never Hike Alone, Killer Therapy tells the story of Brian, a disturbed young man seeking revenge for slights real and imagined, from the family that is terrified of him to the long line of therapists who tried and failed to find a soul inside him.

Best known for appearing in horror classics like The Return of the Living Dead and Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, legendary horror movie icon Thom Mathews is making his return to narrative acting in the Rellik Pictures movie Killer Therapy.
Directed by Barry Jay (Ashes), the movie explores the disturbing thoughts and ensuing therapy sessions of a young man named Brian. Thom Mathews leads the cast as family patriarch John Langston, and here's what the actor has to say about taking on a lead role once again in the horror genre.
"I'm very excited to bring Barry Jay & Andrew Krop's script Killer Therapy to life. After meeting with Barry and reading the script, I knew I wanted to bring this character to the screen because it brought me back to my horror roots. I always try to find the humanity in every role and I have a bloody good role as John Langston.

There’s nothing little about Nicole Kidman’s performance in the second season of HBO’s “Big Little Lies,” which concluded its seven-episode run in July. For her turn as Celeste Wright in the first season, she swept the awards circuit, kick-started by her Best Limited Series/TV Movie Actress Emmy Award win in 2017. But things are a bit different this time around, with Kidman having to compete in Best Drama Actress as the show is no longer a limited series, and the Emmys would be the conclusion to a second potential sweep next year.
With her uniformly excellent performance in the first season, Kidman shone a light on the contradictory feelings that are triggered by domestic abuse, which Celeste suffered at the hands of her husband Perry (Alexander Skarsgard). That was especially apparent in therapy session scenes, in which Celeste, a woman who’s closed herself off from reality...

The nominations for the 2019 Emmys haven’t even been announced yet, but the 2020 season is already in full swing and has seen some of its first contenders grace the screen, like HBO’s “Big Little Lies,” which returned for its second season after a two-year hiatus on June 9. Now five episodes in, the season is already filled with many memorable, high-caliber performances from the star-studded cast, including newest addition Meryl Streep, but it’s Laura Dern as Renata Klein who is proving to be one of this season’s biggest scene-stealers.
When we first meet Renata last season, she’s a snooty and unbridled, yet powerful and determined woman. Scenes such as her condescendingly treating Jane (Shailene Woodley) like a nanny because of her appearance, or her repeatedly pointing to Ziggy (Iain Armitage) during a season-long quest to seek out her daughter Amabella’s (Ivy George) bully, sometimes made her tough to swallow.

‘Big Little Lies’ Review: ‘The End of the World’ Approaches, as Does Season 2’s Make or Break Moment
[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Big Little Lies,” “The End of the World” — Season 2, Episode 3.]
Meryl Streep isn’t just the enticing new cast member to “Big Little Lies” Season 2; she’s carrying the entire plot on her shoulders. So far, that’s been a blessing, as Streep’s attentive and rich performance makes any time spent with the mourning Mary Louise pure pleasure. But in Episode 3, “The End of the World,” it’s also clearer than ever that she’s the only one driving any narrative momentum. What writer David E. Kelley and director Andrea Arnold do with her dogged pursuit of the truth will be the make or break moment for the series. As we approach the midway point, this latest hour shows how enjoyable and affecting this new “Big Little Lies” can be, while still repeating the same beats shown previously.
Before we get to a few theories of what might come...

It was only a matter of time, I guess. And sure enough today we have word that Paramount Pictures and Jason Blum's Blumhouse Productions are currently working on a new entry in the found footage horror franchise Paranormal Activity. Paramount Pictures Chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos announced on stage at CineEurope, that a new chapter in the massively successful series is officially in development at the studio. Specifically, Gianopulos says about what will be Paranormal Activity 7.
"We are partnering with uber horror producer Jason Blum to bring a new installment of Paranormal Activity."
You have got to hand it to this James Gianopulos fellow; he gets right to the point. But quick jab aside, as a horror fan I can't help but be excited about this development. Sure what currently courses through this guy's horror veins could easily be called "cautious optimism" but what the hell, it's optimism all the same.

While we still have several months left to wait until Kit Harington returns as Jon Snow in Game of Thrones Season 7, fans who attended the Venice Film Festival this weekend got to see his new movie Brimstone. Today we have three new clips from this Western, which shows Kit Harington's character Samuel going to meticulous lengths to get his revenge. If that wasn't enough we also have a new photo gallery from Brimstone
The Playlist debuted these clips, the first of which shows Kit Harington dropping a noose over his unsuspecting enemy's head, while he sits in an outhouse. While the other two clips aren't quite as intense, it's clear that fans of dark Westerns will surely be drawn to Brimstone. The project doesn't have a U.S. distributor yet, but that may change soon as it continues on the festival circuit, with a screening at the Toronto International Film Festival (Tiff) next week.

The new "Twin Peaks" isn't slated to debut on Showtime until 2017, but a flurry of speculation about it happened last week with a tweet from Go For Locations indicating that filming had wrapped on the "first two seasons" of the series.
The episode count for the David Lynch-directed series was always in question, but that tweet suggested we'd be getting even more episodes than originally planned. Said tweet has since been deleted, so we'll have to wait to see how that pans out.

Paramount Pictures released their new horror/thriller movie, "Paranormal Activity 6: The Ghost Dimension," into theaters this weekend, and all the major, top movie critics have turned in their reviews. It looks like hardly any of them liked it with an overall 32 score out of a possible 100 across 7 reviews at the Metacritic.com site. The film stars: Chris J. Murray, Brit Shaw, Ivy George, Dan Gill, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Chloe Csengary, Jessica Tyler Brown and Don McManon. We've posted comments from a couple of the critics, below. Drew McWeeny from Hitfix, gave it a 58 grade, saying: "To the bitter end, the series manages to wring some fun, solid scares out of something other invading something utterly familiar." Andrew Barker from Variety, gave it a terrible 30 score. He stated: "There may well be new and novel ways to spark audience shivers from not-so-bright homeowners inexplicably using their cameraphones to check out bumps in the night,...

This personal admission might reveal my youthfulness, but Paranormal Activity is one of the first movies that kickstarted my horror obsession, leading to a franchise I curiously watched morph with every entry. I’ll defend Paranormal Activity 2, where most people don’t, and alternatively, I saw Paranormal Activity 3 as the franchise’s inevitable decline. While we can all agree that Paranormal Activity 4 is a cut-and-dry piece of dookie, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones brought me back with a screaming vengeance, ready for more door-slamming bravado.
So, moment of truth – does Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension close Blumhouse’s near-iconic franchise with a boisterously enraged bang? Nah, it’s more like a inevitably cluttered whimper that attempts to answer all outstanding questions while simultaneously tying a neat little bow around Toby’s debut appearance.

Who knew you could get this much mileage out of a ghost named Toby? Nine years ago this week, Oren Peli started production on "Paranormal Activity," which was made for $27, a box of Band-Aids, and three plates of ham sandwiches. Truly independent in every way, the film premiered a year later at ScreamFest, and then… didn't come out for two more years. While "Paranormal Activity" is a remarkable success story, it's also not an instant one. Peli had to struggle to get his film from that first screening to a major theatrical release, and there were plenty of fine-tuning that had to be done to get it there. "Paranormal" has many godfathers, and by the time the film came out in 2009, it had been through many hands. The result, though, has been one of the biggest horror franchises in recent memory, and it laid the foundation for Jason Blum's entire horror empire.

Returning to the scene of the original crime, the sixth installment in the Paranormal Activity series is the weakest yet, lacking a compelling reason to exist, beyond a desire to extend the franchise. The previous edition, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2014), was a spinoff, heading to a working-class neighborhood in Ventura, California as a new family became plagued by supernatural forces. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension is once again set in a spacious suburban home, the one that was previously inhabited by the haunted family whose trials were detailed in the first four films. A new family has moved in, consisting of father Ryan (Chris J. Murray), mother Emily (Brit Shaw), and 8-year-old daughter Leila (Ivy George). Ryan's younger brother Mike (Dan Gill) shows...

Cheap, lazy, and limited by its slavish adherence to the found-footage trope. Bonus: features the most cynical use ever of 3D to boost cinema ticket prices. I’m “biast” (pro): nothing
I’m “biast” (con): increasingly annoyed by this series
(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)
Why won’t this franchise die? I know, I know: the Paranormal Activity flicks make a lot of money. But why? Each entry in the franchise is duller, unscarier, and drifts further from the found-footage conceit than the last. I look back through my reviews of the series — start here, then go here, here, and here (I managed to avoid last year’s installment) — and behold increasing despair and exasperation. Then double it again for Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, which is incredibly dull and insufferably self-conscious about forcing itself into a story that was already tediously overplayed in the previous films.

Meet the Paranormal Activity film that promises to wrap the series up! Here's our review of The Ghost Dimension...
This is a spoiler-free review, which includes plot details from the previous five instalments in the Paranormal Activity series.
Back in 2009, Paramount masterminded a revolutionary marketing campaign for Oren Peli's micro-budget found footage horror movie Paranormal Activity. With endorsements from the likes of Steven Spielberg, it was arguably the most hyped film of its year and certainly the most profitable, returning $193m on a $15,000 budget.
Sequels abounded and the films comfortably usurped the annual Halloween slot occupied by the Saw franchise over the course of the following three sequels. 2013 was supposed to see two Paranormal Activity movies - a “Latin-American oriented” spin-off at the beginning of the year and then a fifth instalment at Halloween as usual, but the cool reception to Paranormal Activity 4 apparently led...

This October, nothing you've seen, nothing you've experience can prepare you for the final chapter of activity. Paramount has revealed the second and final trailer for the fifth installment in the popular horror franchise, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension. Toby is summoned from Hell by a game of backwards Bloody Marry. And it turns a family's new home into a living, breathing nightmare.
Ryan, Brit and their daughter have moved into a new home. They quickly discover that something just isn't right. Leila is speaking to spirits. In the attic, dad discovers an old camera. It's a unique piece of dated VHS technology. It gives the user the ability to see ghosts. Yes, spirit photography allows you to see things you can not see with the naked eye. Now, in the fifth and final installment of the Paranormal Activity series, one family will finally make their way to the other side.

We’re little under a week until the Paranormal Activity series comes to an end with The Ghost Dimension, and with this latest trailer, it really seems they’re going out with a bang. Packing in more action than all the numbered entries combined (The Marked Ones seems like a dry one for this), this trailer really has me excited for the franchise finally answering questions they have teased us with for so long. Released: October 21st Synopsis: Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension centers on the Fleeges — father Ryan (Chris J. Murray), mother Emily (Brit Shaw) and their young daughter Leila (Ivy George) — who move into a house and discover a video camera and a box of tapes in the garage. When they look through the camera’s lens, they begin to see the paranormal activity happening around them – including the re-emergence of young Kristi and Katie. The video camera...
