“Ginny & Georgia” returned for Season 3 on Netflix with more chaos for the mother-daughter duo, as Georgia faces a murder trial and a lifetime prison sentence.

As such, a moody mash-up of songs accompanies this thrilling batch of episodes. Ginny is navigating her own challenges at school as her peers learn of her mother’s criminal record, while jumping through hoops to connect with her mother.

Season 3 features tracks from electronic dance group Jungle and a classic (and recently trending) tune from Patsy Cline. Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Remi Wolf and Yebba’s songs also make an appearance in the Netflix series.

Ginny & Georgia has challenged the mold between drama and comedy, tackling all sorts of themes, for two seasons, and Season 3 follows in those footsteps.

Season 3 will see Brianne Howey’s Georgia Miller go through a trial for murder, which she did, indeed commit, while her daughter Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and son Austin (Diesel La Torraca) watch from the courtroom benches alongside her fiancé Mayor Paul Randolph (Scott Porter).

Whether it be an event at high school for sophomores like Sophomore Sleepover or Tulips & Tuxes or a Living Room Dance Party (Lrdp), there are many opportunities for a needle drop or three in the series. Alison Moses and Kayla Monetta are responsible for curating the soundtrack to the show’s third season.

Aaron Sorkin has signed a deal with Warner Bros. to write and potentially direct a film about the unlikely father of the Israeli Air Force, Al Schwimmer.

The project is based, in part, on “America’s Greatest Gift to Israel,” an article published in Business Insider and written by David Kushner. Sorkin’s film will be produced by Gotham Group’s Eric Robinson and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein. It is currently in development.

Schwimmer’s story is certainly cinematic — he began his career as an aerospace engineer at Lockheed and, during World War II, worked for Twa and the U.S. Air Transport Command as a flight engineer. Exclusive: Warner Bros has made a deal to develop a film about the unlikely father of the Israel Air Force, and Aaron Sorkin will write the script and possibly direct the film.

Olivia Rodrigo, Nicki Minaj, Usher, and Sza are among the artists who will perform shows around the country throughout the holiday season.

“Our annual iHeartRadio Jingle Ball lineup is one of our most anticipated of the year, and we’re excited to finally share who will be joining us on the road this season,” Tom Poleman, chief programming officer for iHeartMedia, said in a statement (via Billboard). “This event always showcases the best in pop music and gives our listeners the chance to celebrate the holiday season alongside their favorite artists.”

This year’s “iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour Presented by Capital One” will feature performances by Olivia Rodrigo, Usher, Nicki Minaj, Sza, Niall Horan, OneRepublic, Ajr, Sabrina Carpenter, Miguel, Jelly Roll, Big Time Rush, Nct Dream, Flo Rida and more. The 2023 tour will stop in Tampa, Florida; Dallas/Fort Worth; Los Angeles; Chicago; Detroit; New York; Boston; Washington, D.C.; Philadelphia; Atlanta; and Miami/Fort Lauderdale.

Exclusive: A story about a Fiji surf paradise gone wrong by David Kushner, the journalist behind A24’s Zola, is to be turned into a documentary.

Kushner has penned Paradise Lost for Vanity Fair and the story is now being adapted by Anchor Entertainment, the production company behind HBO’s Undercurrent: The Disappearance of Kim Wall, and Vanity Fair Studios.

The story follows Navrin, Woody, and Jona – two Aussie surfer bros and their local partner – who thought they’d found their own little slice of paradise in Fiji. That was until the deep-pocketed Chinese developer set up shop next door and started digging up the reef offshore. Then a Silicon Valley-backed scientist who swears he can build the perfect surf break got involved and the whole place became a stopover for the pandemic-era megayacht set.

The tech giant is launching Missed Fortune, an audio series centered around the true story around one man’s years-long quest to find a million dollar treasure hidden in 2010 by eccentric art dealer Forrest Fenn.

It is the company’s latest original podcast as the company continues to ramp up its move into original audio series. Previous originals include The Line, Hooked, Run, Bambi, Run and Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy – a strategy that it has been expanding on after spending years merely in the distribution side of the podcast business.

The company, which runs its original podcasts through its television arm Apple TV+, will launch the first three episodes of the nine-part series on August 15.

It is hosted by journalist and former Outside Podcast host Peter Frick-Wright.

Kushner’s magazine articles have inspired films like A24’s “Zola” and upcoming projects involving Christian Bale and Spike Lee. Substack, a subscription newsletter service, will now be home to his new work “Masters of Disruption: How the Gamer Generation Built the Future,” which will see a serialized release and feature multimedia components over 9 installments. The book is a sequel of sorts to his 2003 bestseller “Masters of Doom,” from Random House.

Normally found in the pages of Rolling Stone, Wired and Vanity Fair, Kushner follows an increasing number of journalists going the newsletter route. It’s notable that an author as frequently adapted as Kushner would seek a deal like this, which guarantees him sole adaptive rights in an age where publishing houses like Conde Nast have ambitious content production divisions.
