“Ginny & Georgia” returned for Season 3 on Netflix with more chaos for the mother-daughter duo, as Georgia faces a murder trial and a lifetime prison sentence.
As such, a moody mash-up of songs accompanies this thrilling batch of episodes. Ginny is navigating her own challenges at school as her peers learn of her mother’s criminal record, while jumping through hoops to connect with her mother.
Season 3 features tracks from electronic dance group Jungle and a classic (and recently trending) tune from Patsy Cline. Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Remi Wolf and Yebba’s songs also make an appearance in the Netflix series.
For a full breakdown of all the songs in Season 3 of “Ginny & Georgia,” keep reading:

Ginny & Georgia has challenged the mold between drama and comedy, tackling all sorts of themes, for two seasons, and Season 3 follows in those footsteps.
Season 3 will see Brianne Howey’s Georgia Miller go through a trial for murder, which she did, indeed commit, while her daughter Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and son Austin (Diesel La Torraca) watch from the courtroom benches alongside her fiancé Mayor Paul Randolph (Scott Porter).
Whether it be an event at high school for sophomores like Sophomore Sleepover or Tulips & Tuxes or a Living Room Dance Party (Lrdp), there are many opportunities for a needle drop or three in the series. Alison Moses and Kayla Monetta are responsible for curating the soundtrack to the show’s third season.
Findall the songs you’ll hear in Ginny & Georgia Season 3 below:

It is Versant’s turn to spin(co.) you.
The portfolio of misfit NBCU cable channels announced its first programming slate since being announced as SpinCo. and refined into Versant. The 2025-26 TV season will feature “bold originals, blockbuster sports and iconic live events,” the Versant publicity team said Monday in a press release.
E! alone announced five new unscripted series at the NBC upfront, Syfy and USA Network each unveiled one new scripted series, and Oxygen’s got a killer pair of freshman shows. Wait, let us rephrase that last bit: Oxygen has two freshman shows about killers. Tbd on how good they are.
All told, Versant pitched 16 new originals to a ballroom full of advertisers at Radio City Music Hall.

Aaron Sorkin has signed a deal with Warner Bros. to write and potentially direct a film about the unlikely father of the Israeli Air Force, Al Schwimmer.
The project is based, in part, on “America’s Greatest Gift to Israel,” an article published in Business Insider and written by David Kushner. Sorkin’s film will be produced by Gotham Group’s Eric Robinson and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein. It is currently in development.
Schwimmer’s story is certainly cinematic — he began his career as an aerospace engineer at Lockheed and, during World War II, worked for Twa and the U.S. Air Transport Command as a flight engineer. In 1948, as Jews were fighting to carve out a homeland for themselves, Schwimmer “masterminded a covert, illegal, international operation that was equal parts ‘Argo’ and ‘Mission: Impossible.’ Working with the Jewish underground paramilitary, the Haganah, Schwimmer led a team of WWII veterans to break...

John Hamm might have just received two Emmy nominations for his work on The Morning Show, and Fargo, but the 53-year-old actor is turning to the world of podcasting for his next venture. Hamm first became a star in the eyes of many thanks to his portrayal of Don Draper on the AMC series Mad Men, which led to him having a successful career in both film and TV, with one of his latest appearances being in the blockbuster hit Top Gun: Maverick. Now, Hamm is venturing into the fantasy genre, so to speak, with his next project focusing on the massively popular Ttrpg, Dungeons & Dragons.
Per Deadline, Hamm will executive produce and star in Dungeon Masters, a scripted, true-crime podcast series that will explore the world of Dungeons & Dragons through the lens of a private investigator in 1979. Also starring Star Trek alum Wil Wheaton as Dungeons & Dragons creator Gary Gygax,...

Exclusive: Jon Hamm, fresh off his two Emmy nominations, has been set to star in and exec-produce scripted podcast series Dungeon Masters, which heralds from QCode and Smile and Twilight producer Temple Hill.
Created, written and directed by journalist and author David Kushner, the series is based on his research and writing about hit game Dungeons & Dragons, inspired by the real-life missing person case which inadvertently made the game (in)famous.
Set in 1979, the series gives listeners a behind-the-curtain look into the world of Dungeons & Dragons, told through the lenses of private investigator William Dear (Hamm), a swashbuckling style tough guy and creator of the game Gary Gygax (Wil Wheaton). The series follows Dear on his quest to find Dallas Egbert, a Michigan State student, who supposedly disappeared in the steam tunnels under his University while enacting a real-life version of D&d.

As Season 24’s Playoffs got underway on The Voice Tuesday evening, the former One Direction heartthrob’s team competed for the chance to advance to the Top 12. And all six — including the Super Save artist that he was allowed to bring back after her elimination — did pretty damn terrifically. There was almost no wrong way that he could go… except one. He had among his contenders a singer who stood head and shoulders above the rest. That she should continue on wasn’t merely obvious, it was, like, mandatory. Yet he cut her...

Exclusive: The McG-led Wonderland Sound and Vision is developing a new docuseries based on the alleged crimes of Anthony Farrer, a high-end watch dealer and social media influencer who ran a consignment store in Beverly Hills.
Farrer, whose business was called the Timepiece Gentleman, would collect luxury watches from customers with the promise to sell them on consignment at no more than a 5 percent fee. Instead, he amassed exotic cars, enjoyed extravagant trips and dinners, and rented $100,000-per-month penthouse while operating his business from November of 2022 through August of 2023.
The story came to a head when a whistleblower posted a secret conversation between him and Farrer on TikTok, where Farrer confessed to losing $5 million of his customers’ and investors’ money. At least 20 victims were allegedly duped by Farrer, according to the Nyt.
The hero of the scandal was a determined group on Reddit that suspected wrongdoing for years. The...

Exclusive: After circling rights for weeks to the buzzy Vanity Fair article “True Crime, True Faith: The Serial Killer and the Texas Mom Who Stopped Him,” Amazon MGM Studios has locked them down, Deadline understands.
Executive producer and production attachments on True Crime, True Faith are premature and cannot be confirmed at this time.
While certain buyers had been looking at developing the piece for film, it seems that the Amazon adaptation will be a series. Details have yet to emerge about creatives involved behind the camera, and of course, discussions on casting have not started given the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

Campaigning is an essential part of a successful awards season. This year it has been varied with the return of TV appearances in addition to performances for internet media voters may frequent. And campaigning seems as intense as ever, so let’s look at how the potential nominees did so before nomination voting closed on October 20.
SEEBillboard Music Awards announce 2023 revamp, promising ‘a fresh award show concept’
Late night talk shows
Talk shows have always been good campaigning spots, and this year they were even more so. Talk shows went off-air for months due to the WGA strike, so many people were eager to watch them again when they finally came back on the air. Coincidentally, the return of these shows almost matched with the first day of Grammy voting (October 11), so there was a lot of hype that artists could take advantage of.

Ptsd is silently insidious, the remnants of trauma which linger and distort the body and mind. Lady Percy in Shakespeare's Henry IV, Part I almost describes it better than anyone else until the 20th century — "Thy spirit within thee hath been so at war, and thus hath so bestirred thee in thy sleep, that beads of sweat have stood upon thy brow like bubbles in a late-disturbed stream; and in thy face strange motions have appeared."
While there are several great fictional movies about Ptsd, there haven't been many great documentaries. Here. Is. Better. hopes to change that by providing unprecedented access inside therapy sessions of men and women Veterans battling Ptsd.

That was until the deep-pocketed Chinese developer set up shop next door and started digging up the reef offshore. Then a Silicon Valley-backed scientist who swears he can build the perfect surf break got involved and the whole place became a stopover for the pandemic-era megayacht set.

No one likes the feeling of stagnation. A character reaches his breaking point in David Kushner’s “Miserable Man,” an acoustic ballad from January that’s as sparse as a one-horse town. “Let’s pack our stuff now and run away,” the narrator implores, though in truth it sounds like he can barely muster the energy to get out of bed.
A month later, actress-singer Dove Cameron tried to snap a love interest out of a stagnant relationship with “Boyfriend,” which has the swoony opulence of a James Bond theme song.

Editors note: Deadline’s Read the Screenplay series debuts and celebrates the scripts of films that will be factors in this year’s movie awards race.
Since the birth of cinema, movies have adapted plays and books for source material. In recent years, comic books, video games and even podcasts have inspired feature films. Zola may be the first ever film adapted from a Twitter thread.
A’Ziah King told the story in an infamous 2015 Twitter thread under her name @_zolamoon. She began, “Y’all wanna hear a story about why me and this b**** here fell out????? It’s kind of long but full of suspense.”

David Kushner, a bestselling author and journalist whose stories are often developed for film and television, will publish his next book at Substack.
Kushner’s magazine articles have inspired films like A24’s “Zola” and upcoming projects involving Christian Bale and Spike Lee. Substack, a subscription newsletter service, will now be home to his new work “Masters of Disruption: How the Gamer Generation Built the Future,” which will see a serialized release and feature multimedia components over 9 installments. The book is a sequel of sorts to his 2003 bestseller “Masters of Doom,” from Random House.
Normally found in the pages of Rolling Stone, Wired and Vanity Fair, Kushner follows an increasing number of journalists going the newsletter route. It’s notable that an author as frequently adapted as Kushner would seek a deal like this, which guarantees him sole adaptive rights in an age where publishing houses like Conde Nast have ambitious content production divisions.

Christian Bale has just picked up a lead role as a drug smuggling preacher in New Regency's upcoming movie The Church of Living Dangerously. A feature adaptation of a Vanity Fair article by David Kushner, the movie is the next big project for Bale after the actor recently wrapped filming on an upcoming David O. Russell movie at New Regency. The script is written by Charles Randolph (Bombshell), who previously co-wrote the Bale movie The Big Short.
In The Church of Living Dangerously, Christian Bale plays John Lee Bishop, a man who emerged from a troubled childhood to become pastor of The Living Hope Church in Oregon. He is described as a "natural showman" who would do things like bringing in exotic animals to the church for a sermon on Noah's Ark, though that almost ended in disaster when he was nearly mauled by a Bengal tiger.

Christian Bale has joined David Kushner’s adaptation of the Vanity Fair article ‘The Church of Living Dangerously.’
Bale will take on the role of John Lee Bishop, the married pastor and natural showman of The Living Hope Church which became so big at his peak it filled a former K-Mart superstore in Portland Oregon.
Bishop was no normal Pastor, not only did he cause issues after being caught in having an affair with a church employee, but he was also quite the showman who after introducing a Bengal Tiger in one of his sermons, was then mauled by said Tiger. He also had a painkiller and drinking problem.

In October 2015, A'Ziah "Zola" King, a Detroit Hooters waitress and part-time stripper, unleashed a 150 tweet thread that became a viral sensation. The tweetstorm, now infamously known as the "The Story", was a bonkers account of a road trip with a brazen young woman she'd served at work. Zola, actually titled @Zola, is adapted from David Kushner's Rolling Stone article, "Zola Tells All: The Real Story Behind the Greatest Stripper Saga Ever Tweeted". The film is a rollercoaster ride down a sordid path of prostitution, sexual slavery, and violence. Zola's shot in an imaginative way that highlights the pure insanity. How much of it is true remains to be clarified, but it's absolutely eye-popping to see.
Zola opens with her (Taylour Paige) waiting tables as a scantily clad restaurant server. She catches the eye of Stefani (Riley Keough), provocatively dressed and dining with a much older man. Stefani and Zola hit it off immediately.

Based on a viral 2015 Twitter thread, “Zola” isn’t the first movie about social media, but it might be the first that truly captures the chaotic frenzy of how social media intersects social justice and entertainment.
Told through the lens of A’Ziah “Zola” King, aka @_zolarmoon, the Detroit waitress who wrote the original 148-tweet thread, the film embraces the contrasting parallels that exist within the characters while also frankly unveiling an alternate America that mainstream society simultaneously praises and shuns.
Zola has resigned herself to her life. She waits tables in a restaurant that’s just a tier above fast food and is sleepwalking through life when she meets co-worker Stefani (Riley Keough). The two quickly bond, talking about their shared side-hustle, stripping, and numbers are exchanged. Over the next day, the bond tightens over texts, and Zola soon finds herself agreeing to go on a road trip to Florida with Stefani,...

The biblical story of Jesus is considered by many “the greatest story ever told”. In fact, it is so much so that there was a whole movie about the big J titled The Greatest Story Ever Told. Well, if there were a Twitter equivalent of the greatest story ever told, it would definitely be the Janicza Bravo-directed Zola (opening in theaters June 30).
The synopsis of the A24 film based on the real-life tweets from A’Ziah-Monae “Zola” King that captivated the world reads: “Y’all wanna hear a story about why me & this bitch here fell out? It’s kind of long but full of suspense.”
Bravo co-wrote the film with Jeremy O. Harris and the pair used the aforementioned epic viral 148-Twitter thread as well as David Kushner’s Rolling Stone article “Zola Tells All: The Real Story Behind the Greatest Stripper Saga Ever Tweeted” — and it is an epic saga indeed.
