Lucas Paz is a Brazilian filmmaker on the rise. He is an award-winning Director, Producer and Actor of Film and Advertising with over 100 works completed and over 20 awards around the world.

Throughout his 29-year career he has earned recognition for his contribution to the arts with commendations from the state of California and from the city of Los Angeles through Mayor Eric M. Garcetti.

For over 10 years his films and performances have focused on marginalized groups, identity, memory, citizenship and environmental issues, through fiction and documentary. He has worked with clients such as Discovery+, Sesame Street, WarnerMedia, Asurion, Volvo, JWT Mumbai, Alibaba Pictures, Park Avenue, Canal Brasil.

As author he published "Vestes de Quê: Vazão a Poemas Presos", (PRE)FORMA-SE Artistic Productions, 2017; "The performance art in public spaces through the basis of minimal gestures or simple actions", FAPESP, 2013. Lucas is a member of the Limoeirense Academy of Letters, a nationally prestigious literary institution.

His work as director in theatre was featured on the São Paulo government website (Moacir: Filhos da Dor, dance theater performance in swimming pools, 2012) and in the 2013 Retrospective of the most striking facts of the city of Fortaleza ('Inrooted' Urban Intervention, which had major political relevance).

Lucas was an university professor and artistic director of Opera at Azusa Pacific University (USA) and professor of the first film course promoted in partnership by Porto Iracema das Artes and the Crato Culture Secretariat in this same city.

The filmmaker was curator of the 10th Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival, the most traditional of its segment in Hollywood.

He launched his visual arts exhibition Marés in Fortaleza, gathering 98 paintings, photos and sculptures of his own. He exhibited some of his paintings and performed the live performance "You are indispensable" at the 1st Made in Brazil Art Show at the Brazilian Consulate in Los Angeles.

Lucas Paz has had the honor of working with established industry names like José Celso Martinez Corrêa, Tó Araújo, Les Pigmentés, Pepe Serna, Offspring, Avenged Sevenfold, Robyn, Tyga, Halder Gomes, Edmilson Filho, Thalma de Freitas, André Mattos, Daniela Escobar, Al Danuzio, Thaila Ayala, Dani Suzuki, Erika Harrsch, Herakut, Wankelmut and many others.

Much of his work addresses marginalized social groups through fiction and documentary. He also researches performance as a language to be explored in public spaces and as a theatrical element in the contemporary scene.

He is a trained actor by CAD-UFC 07' class (Performing Arts Technical Course - Federal University of Ceará) and was a member of theatre group "Alumiar Cenas e Cirandas" for 12 years. He is recognized by his work in different Brazilian cities (São Paulo, Fortaleza, Mulungu, Campinas, Lorena) and in countries such as Australia, Argentina, France, Portugal and United States. He also works as performing arts producer and director.

Undergraduate in Theatre Directing Major at one of the World's Best Universities: University of Sao Paulo, USP. Lucas Paz also developed theoretical, researching and practical experience in Performing Arts (Directing, Staging, Lighting), Visual Arts (Multimedia and Intermedia, Computer Graphics), Film and TV (Production Design, Assistant Directing, Screenwriting, Interactive Media), and Philosophy, Languages and Humans Sciences (Anthropology). All these matters were essential to act as a professional director, professor, performer, producer, light operator and actor.
