Durgesh Kumar is an Indian actor who is known for his character Aadoo in the Hindi film Highway and for playing the role of Bhushan in the OTT web series Panchayat.In 2001,Durgesh came to Delhi to pursue engineering, however, after not getting success in entrance exam test he decided to join the theatre. He did around 35 plays. And he completed his BA honours from Ignou from 2004 to 2007. And has completed certificates course in acting from Shri Ram Centre Performing Arts & Culture from 2004 to 2006.
After that he selected for National School of Drama which is renowned acting institute in the world. And from 2008 to 2010 he learnt acting skills from NSD. And received post graduate diploma in acting from the National School of Drama.
After that he joined National School of Drama as repetary Company from 2012 to 2013 which he got his first acting break in the Hindi film Highway.
He has done fellowship on Chekhov Play before joining NSD repetary.
Durgesh revealed to a media person that during his struggling days his family was his most enormous support. His elder brother was the one who suggested Durgesh for joining theatre when he did not receive success in the engeneering entrance exam test.
Durgesh consider actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui as his biggest inspiration.
Addressing the media about his character in Panchayat 2 said that "Doing small roles in various web series, is on cloud nine after the release of Panchayat 2. " I am actually surprised as my character of Bhushan or Banrakas has become such a hit. In fact, when i was performing i had no idea people would love it so much. I give full credit to the writer and director of Panchayat 2 for creating Banrakas."
In lesuire time Durgesh prefer reading books. The book Hamlet by Shakespeare William is one of his favourite book.
Durgesh loves cooking. He is often seen posting cooking images on social media sites.
In 2021, during the pandemic, Durgesh was the part of the show named Eco warrior that was related to corona and environmental problems.
Durgesh is an active member of Aranya theatre, Ujjagar Theatre group Mumbai which directors are Ajit Singh Pahlawat and Ipshita Chakraborty.
In 2022, after the release of socio - political drama show 'Panchayat 2', a meme based on one of the scene from the show went viral on internet. In the scene, the character of Bhushan aka Banrakas, played by Durgesh Kumar, addressed his companion Binod, played by Ashok Pathak, "Dekh Raha Hai Na Binod".
