In 2015, a semi-retired CPA/realtor started a youtube channel, 5 years later, her two channels had 13 million views. Wishing to show the original videos to the world, she started submitting to film festivals in late 2016. 5 years later, she got 960 IMDb awards. in 2023, her film about her struggle with Dyslexia - "Dysability" got official selection from India's only Oscar qualifying festival.
Although most of her films were made under time and budget constraints. Her film "South Africa- Rainbow Nations" was nominated as Best Documentary in the 20th AMAA in 2024. It is hard to imagine how this 20 minutes documentary filmed with her cell phones while traveling on a 10 day cruise that was written, directed, produced and edited by her can break all boundaries. Being nominated by African Academy Award judges proved that anything is possible.
In the 10 years since she started making films, her 850 award winning films won over 2450 IMDB awards. Including 81 Worldfest Houston Remi Awards in many categories, including a 2022 special jury awards in Music Video by Hollywood Dream not a dream, a 2025 Platinum for Chinese Prophecies. 11 gold in World Peace, Comedy/Romance, Dramatic Short, Social Issues, Computer Generated Mixed Media, Family/Children, Music Video/New Artist, Short Documentary, History, Documentary and Travel. Her other Worldfest Houston wins from 2020 - 2025 including 41 Silver 16 Bronze and 11 Finalist award. These Remi winning films were filmed in and represented Taiwan, Namibia, USA, South Africa, Mexico, India, Hungary, Canada, Nigeria, Indonesia, Thailand, New Zealand, Hong Kong, China, England, Australia, South Korea, Svalbard, Norway, Iceland, Greenland, Panama, Vietnam, Poland, Spain and Italy.
It must not be easy to award a prolific filmmaker with limited budget. But 21st through 25th annual Barebone International awarded her 12 awards from 2020-2024, The 13th through 17th annual The Indie Gathering awarded her 5 awards. The 14th through 19th annual SoCal Film awards gave her 11 awards from 2020 to 2024. And Colortape Int'l, often called the largest Film festival in Southern Hemisphere, awarded her the only special jury award on film "$100" in 2022, "Best Documentary" for Dysability in 2023, Best director in 2024, and Best Drama on "What is love?" in 2024. With a total win of 9 in 3 years.
