What’s the Deal With Sleep Token?
Image
Since emerging in 2016, the English prog-metal outfit Sleep Token have become one of rock’s most enigmatic success stories. Operating in cloaked pseudonymity — their core members are known as Vessel and II, and they perform in elaborately detailed costumes — they’ve crafted a wide-ranging musical world that’s felt distinctly 21st century. Using the bludgeoning riffs and heavy drums commonly associated with metal as a jumping-off point, their music is full of left turns and unexpected tonal shifts, making them as hard to pigeonhole as they are to identify.

An Amazon MGM Studios film. Photo Credit: Dan Smith © 2025 Amazon Content Services LLC. All Rights Reserved. Action star Jason Statham returns with full force in his new film A Working Man. The movie offers more than a typical father-building-construction story. The new film A Working Man takes over theaters to show why Jason Statham remains the undisputed king of high-energy movies. The premise? Statham ditches his shadowy past as a counter-terrorism legend to embrace a simpler life: construction and fatherhood. But when a local girl vanishes, the past claws its way back, forcing him to dust off those lethal skills. Think Taken meets The Equalizer, with a dash of Statham’s signature sardonic wit. Expect bone-crunching fight sequences, heart-stopping chases, and a few well-placed one-liners that’ll leave you chuckling amidst the chaos.

Watch The First Trailer For Guy Ritchie’s Action-Comedy The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare
Image
The first trailer for Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare debuted today.

Based upon recently declassified files of the British War Department and inspired by true events, The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare is an action-comedy that tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials including author Ian Fleming. The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly “ungentlemanly” fighting techniques. Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British Sas and modern Black Ops warfare.

Directed and co-written for the screen by Guy Ritchie, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare stars Henry Cavill, Eiza González (Baby Driver), Alan Ritchson (TV’s Reacher...

All Football Names In Key & Peele's "East/West College Bowl" Sketch
Image
Here's a breakdown of every bizarre name featured in Key & Peele's classic "East/West College Bowl." Key & Peele is a sketch show that paired Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, with the duo proving to be perfect comic partners. The series debuted in 2012 and ran for five seasons and each episode could be relied upon to deliver at least one fantastic sketch. Skits could range from goofy movie or TV parodies to searingly political ones, and the show always gave the titular comics a chance to show off their comic range.

The two comedians have proven themselves incredible talents on their own. Jordan Peele has emerged as one of the most exciting new filmmakers with his Oscar-winning horror movie Get Out and the most recent Nope. Meanwhile, Keegan-Michael Key has remained busy with roles in movies like The Bubble and shows like Reboot. However, their work...

Hear Bastille Duet With Alessia Cara on ‘Another Place’
Alessia Cara at an event for The E! People's Choice Awards (2019)
Bastille have released a new version of their song “Another Place,” featuring the voice of Alessia Cara. The song originally appeared on the British pop band’s album Doom Days, released this past June.

In the music video for the track, Bastille frontman Dan Smith struggles to repair a crumbling house as it falls apart, all while a giant Alessia Cara looks on through the window.

Smith explained in a statement: “I’d always heard ‘Another Place’ as a duet and wanted it to be a story told from two perspectives.

How I Wrote This: Bastille on How Brexit and Heartbreak Influenced ‘Bad Decisions’
Emily Browning and Kit Harington in Pompéi (2014)
Bastille broke through with 2013’s “Pompeii,” an emotional, bombastic stomper that has racked up more than 27 million YouTube views. The band took a darker turn for their new album Doom Days, a concept album about how to have fun and find escapism during an apocalypse.

In the latest video for our How I Wrote This series, which previously featured Gary Clark Jr. and Alessia Cara, Bastille frontman Dan Smith breaks down how he wrote one of the album’s key tracks, “Bad Decisions.” With lyrics like, “If the world is ending,...

Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, and Jennifer Lawrence in Joy (2015)
Hear Bastille’s New Hangover Cure ‘Joy’
Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, and Jennifer Lawrence in Joy (2015)
British synth-pop outfit Bastille find euphoria in the dawn of a new day after a long night on their new song, “Joy,” from their forthcoming album, Doom Days out June 14th via Virgin Records.

Doom Days is set over the course of a single night and “takes the listener on a big night out in search of distraction form the surrounding apocalypse.” As the album’s closer, “Joy” doesn’t portray the morning after in a foggy daze, but rather captures the still-lingering thrill and the hangover-killing cure of a phone call.

Patrick Stump at an event for 2006 MuchMusic Video Awards (2006)
Inside Garageband, the Little App Ruling the Sound of Modern Music
Patrick Stump at an event for 2006 MuchMusic Video Awards (2006)
Patrick Stump was livid. On a lurching tour bus rigged with a wobbly Jenga tower of recording equipment, the singer and Fall Out Boy frontman had been trying to lay down demos for the band’s second album — it’d been hours, fiddling with rubber cords and finicky software — and nothing was working well together. Stump can still precisely recall the panic in the moment he finally finished the rough sketch of a song only to see the whole apparatus glitch and crash on his computer. “I just lost it,...

Pink's Brit Awards Performance Was So Electric, I'm Surprised London Didn't Have a Power Surge
P!nk
Pink gets sh*t done. Wrong her? She'll slash your tires. Ask her to perform? She'll give you an epic medley with energy that could cause a power surge. Case in point: the 39-year-old singer's incredible performance at the 2019 Brit Awards in London on Feb. 20. In addition to accepting the show's outstanding contribution to music award, Pink served up a medley of her greatest hits that left me sweating.

She started off her mashup with a newly released single, "Walk Me Home," before descending to the stage on an aerial hoop, singing "Just Like Fire." She proceeded to belt "Just Give Me a Reason" with Bastille's Dan Smith before dancing in the pouring rain while continuing to sing "Try." Pink then threw on a newspaper-print coat and wowed the audience with a powerful final number, "What About Us." You may experience chills after watching this medley, and I wouldn't blame you one bit.

Christina Aguilera, New Kids on the Block on Braving a Soggy New Year’s Rockin’ Eve
Dick Clark
The 2018 edition of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve turned into a rain-soaked spectacle for performers Christina Aguilera, New Kids on the Block, Dan + Shay and Bastille, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of the artists, waterlogged hosts Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy, or the crowd of over 1 million revelers who crammed into New York’s Times Square for hours on Monday.

Aguilera, clad in a large, belted, snow-white ball gown and towering thigh-high boots, looked regal as she nailed a long medley of her hits “Genie in a Bottle,” “Come on Over, “’Aint No Other Man, “Can’t Hold Us Down” and “Fighter” while a steady rain poured down — she thanked the crowd for braving the elements and, after the performance, joked that her daughter’s middle name is Rain, so she felt right at home.

Singing in the rain is nothing new to NKotB,...

The Voice Season 15 Finale Recap: Was the Right Singer Named the Winner?
The Voice (2011)
Tuesday’s Season 15 finale of The Voice promised to be a real nail-biter. Kirk Jay, heretofore the frontrunner, had had an off night Monday, and Kennedy Holmes had turned in not one, not two but three dazzling performances. They were so good, in fact, that my praise got me accused of being biased. (I think all my enthusiasm for her means is that I prefer contestants who sing like a dream and don’t stand on stage like they’ve been hit by a freeze ray.) But, considering that just last week, the 14-year-old had had to fight for the Instant Save,...

The Spectrum Retreat Review
Last year, I went on a road trip through the east coast of the United States. It was a wonderful vacation, that had me constantly moving from hotel to hotel. They were all nice enough, but I have to admit, none of them had the amenities of the Penrose Hotel. The futuristic hotel at the center of The Spectrum Retreat has everything you could desire. Android servants who will wake you up, a hot meal ready and waiting and a gorgeous view. It has everything you need, except for a way to check-out, apparently.

The Spectrum Retreat puts you on edge right from the start. After awakening from a good night’s rest, you are greeted at the door by a robotic servant asking you to come breakfast. It’s only after it leaves that you are contacted by a mysterious woman by the name of Cooper. You see, the...

‘Ori and the Will of the Wisps’ Retains First Game’s Charm, Improves Combat
“Ori and the Blind Forest” enchanted gamers with its bright colors and adorable hero from the moment it was announced in 2014. The attractive Metroidvania game hides a dark secret, though. Brutal difficulty spikes stood between many players and the game’s uplifting conclusion. The sequel aims to correct those problems.

Moon Studios is set to release “Ori and the Will of the Wisps” in 2019, continuing spirit guardian Ori’s story. The E3 2018 trailer sets the stage for another vibrant adventure.

Unlike the first game’s tragic opening, our first glimpse sees the characters from the first game together. They have taken in a small owl, Ku, the orphaned child of the first game’s antagonist, Kuro.

Unfortunately, the rest of the story is still being kept under wraps, and early glimpses of Ori flying atop Ku haven’t yet been explained. Instead, Moon is using E3 to talk about refinements to gameplay.

106 Cameras, Holograms and Sticky Tape: Inside Microsoft’s Mixed Reality Capture Studios
Before famed British broadcaster Sir David Attenborough ventured across the Atlantic to star in his first virtual reality film last year, an advance team took the trip with a key prop: a handful of Attenborough’s signature pale blue shirts.

The shirts had to be tested because Attenborough wasn’t just visiting a regular Vr film set. Instead, he was being filmed at Microsoft’s Mixed Reality Capture studio, housed on the company’s Redmond campus. It’s a specialized studio dedicated to volumetric capture, capable of recording people in full 3D, ready to be turned into holograms.

Microsoft has been working on this technology for close to eight years, and recently opened another such studio in San Francisco. The company has ambitious plans to license its technology to a variety of operators — collaborations that could perhaps one day result in futuristic photo booths, capable of turning anyone into a hologram for a few bucks.
