Biography

Sara Huxley is the co-owner of Mini Productions; founded by April Kelley in 2012, it is now a multi-award-winning, BIFA nominated production company. Mini's films have been programmed and won awards at worldwide festivals, including; BFI London Film Festival, BFI Flare, Norwich Film Festival, HollyShorts, Show Me Shorts, Underwire, St. Louis International Film Festival, Aesthetica, Cambridge, Iris Prize, LSFF and Raindance.

Their debut feature film 'Rose: A Love Story' was the directorial debut for Jennifer Sheridan and stars Sophie Rundle (Peaky Blinders) and Matt Stokoe (Jamestown). It premiered at the London Film Festival in 2020 and was nominated for a BIFA, via the Raindance Discovery Award. The film is being represented for sales worldwide by Yellow Affair, UK distribution with Signature Entertainment and US distribution with Shout Factory. Mini's latest feature 'Embers' was completed in Jan 2023 and is the directorial debut for actor Christian Cooke. It stars Cooke, Ruth Bradley, David Wilmot, Sam Philips and Clare Perkins. It is s co-production with Lorton Entertainment and was just chosen for the LFF 2022 Talent Showcase and this year's BFI's LFF.

In 2021 Sara Huxley was nominated for a TV BAFTA for a film she produced called The Main Part for BBC Sparks. The film was for BBC iPlayer as part of their monologues strand and was directed by Rosie Westhoff. Alongside Mini, Sara has line produced many HETV shows including Worzel Gummidge for the BBC and Romantic Getaway for Sky Studios. She was Head of Production at Studio71 UK in 2020, overseeing multiple TV shows for the BBC, Channel 4, Discovery and The History Channel. She recently line produced a BBC special of Detectorists which aired on BBC 2 on Boxing Day 2022, and is currently LP'ing a pilot for Sky called They F**k You Up, directed by Peter Capaldi and starring Anne-Marie Duff. In 2022 Sara become a full voting member of BAFTA.
