SHALOMISRAEL DIGGS is a graduate of SUNY Brockport where she obtained a
B.S. in Dance. She studied in
Kingston, Jamaica at the Edna Manley School of Visual and Performing Arts during her senior year.
ShalomIsrael was an apprentice with Garth Fagan Dance Company and trained with it's legendary dancers;
Norwood Pennewell, Natalie Rogers and Steve Humphrey. She also obtained an Associates Degree in Graphic Design from the Katharine Gibbs school in Manhattan, NY.
After moving to New York City, ShalomIsrael had the opportunity to dance with Calvin Wiley Dance Theater. She
worked with several renowned choreographers including Germaul Barnes and Sheryl Murakami. ShalomIsrael
enjoys dancing as an International Latin Ballroom amateur competitor and has trained and worked with with
Maksim & Val Chmerkovskiy and Tony Devoloni of "Dancing With the Stars." She continues to study dance at
the Alvin Ailey Extension and Professional division. Shalom has been a member of the professional
Modern/Hatian dance company, KaNu Dance Theater since 2008. She became Assistant Creative Director of
KaNu in 2012.
