Biography

Eduardo Arturo Macal Morales, born in Ecatepec, State of Mexico, is a Mexican director, screenwriter, producer, and post-producer. He began his film training in 2009 at the National School of Cinematic Arts of UNAM in Mexico City. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Arts, Cinematography, and Television Business from the Mexican Association of Independent Filmmakers until 2014. After finishing his studies, he worked at an action sports channel as an editor, production assistant, and screenwriter. In 2017, he developed his visual technique at Craft, part of McCann Worldgroup in Mexico City. He has directed three short films, including Under the Shadow, which was selected at international festivals in 2019 and 2020, with its lead actress winning Best Actress in 2021. Currently, his short film Mal Aire (2025) is in post-production.
