Toni Menage had her first hit at age 14 under the name "Little Toni Marsh" on Prism Records. The song "Video Burnout" is now recognized as an international dance classic. Toni has the distinction of being part of a handful of artists to peek the interest of the legendary Stevie Wonder at just 15 years old. With the greatest songwriter of the 20th century as her mentor, she recorded for "Tamla Records" and performed as an artist on Stevie's elite roster of talent.
A couple of year later she signed to MCA records under the group name "The Soul Club" and her hit single "I Want Your Guy" was nominated at the Rhythm & Blues Music Association Awards which served as the finale performance backed by a choir of stars including Bobby Brown, Cameo, Dionne Warwick, and Jocelyn Brown just to name a few.
At age 17 she became the original backup vocalist for the multi-platinum group "Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam" (Columbia Records). The band's smash hits includes "I Wonder if I Take You Home" "Can You Feel The Beat", "All Cried Out" and many more.
In the early 90's Toni became a background vocalist for the group "JADE" formerly of Giant Records. She was part of the first ever live BET listening party segment for the network.
Throughout the years Toni has maintained a sister hood with the legendary Lisa Lisa and has recently stepped up as Lisa Lisa's manager and musical director.
Toni is not only portrayed as a main character in the highly anticipated upcoming A&E Lifetime Biopic "Can You Feel The Beat; The Lisa Lisa story" but she is an executive producer on the film as well.
She has toured the world as both an independent recording artists and backup vocalist. She's appeared and performed on just about every national television show including The Nick Cannon Show, Tamron Hall, Good Day New York, American Music Awards, The Joan Rivers Show, The Rhythm and Blues Awards, The World Music Awards, Club MTV, The Arsenio Hall Show, and Soul Train. She can also be seen in the Unsung documentary for Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam on TVone as an original member of the legendary group.
Toni is the founder of "Menage Works Inc" a full service management company and "SoDisrespectful Music" which provides touring bands vocalist and musicians.
