After earning an MFA in Creative Producing from Columbia College Chicago, Marie got her start in the film and television industry as an assistant at HBO Films. There she worked on several high-profile projects including Steven Soderbergh's Behind the Candelabra and Ryan Murphy's The Normal Heart. After HBO, Marie moved over to Adaptive Studios where she helped kick-off Project Greenlight Digital Studios, a story-driven creative community built to empower the next generation of indie filmmakers. As part of that initiative, she executive produced a slate of digital series, including Pineapple which premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.
From 2016-2018 Marie was the Director of Production & Development at MarVista Entertainment overseeing features and made-for-television movies for Lifetime, Hallmark, Ion, UPtv and Netflix. And in 2018 she re-joined the team at Adaptive as their Vice President of Development where she co-ran a slate of 90+ projects spanning Features, Television, Digital and Publishing.
In 2019, Marie was hired at Crazy Legs Productions to help jumpstart a brand-new division, Crazy Legs Features, focused on producing low-budget independent features in Georgia. During her tenure at Crazy Legs, Marie built a development pipeline of high-value IP and produced three features including The Great Lillian Hall starring Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Pierce Brosnan for HBO Films/MAX.
At the beginning of the 2025, Marie leapt into the unknown, channeling her over 15 years of industry experience into the launch of her own production company, Curious Witch Films.
