Look now, I’m as excited as the next person for all things Kim Seon-Ho, but the way The Tyrant banks on his popularity and then gives him about 5 minutes of screen time simply baffles me. Just because someone is ostensibly the “main” character of the show doesn’t mean you’ve got yourself a Hannibal Lecter who can show his face for 15 minutes and win an Oscar for it. Oh, Kim Seon-Ho is great in the show; we don’t even get to see his dimples, but there’s no plot to carry his wonderful acting; that’s the point I’m trying to make here. I went into The Tyrant completely blind, and so I had no idea it was made by the same people who made the movie The Witch Pt. 1: The Subversion.
