Evan Hofer Officially Off Contract At ‘General Hospital’
Image
Although news of his exit from “General Hospital” was first announced in December, with his character being killed off after being injected with digitalis by Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), actor Evan Hofer has now officially exited the daytime drama series with his name removed from the show’s contract cast list as shown at the end of the Friday, February 28 episode.

The change in status comes as Hofer continued appearing on the series, often in flashbacks and mourning scenes involving Dex’s girlfriend, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), despite remaining a corpse. He most recently appeared in a flashback where Cyrus removed Dex’s hospital band while his body was in the General Hospital morgue.

Making his daytime debut in the soap opera’s May 6, 2022 episode, Hofer’s name had appeared on the contract list between cast members Josh Kelly (Cody Bell) and Jane Elliot (Tracy Quartermaine).

Earlier this week, the...

Very Bad Trailer for Horror Movie 'Spin The Bottle' Based on the Game
Image
"That kid and his family brought nothing but death to our town." Paramount has unveiled an official trailer for a horror movie called Spin The Bottle, which is being released on VOD in October next month - so they don't miss out on horror month. This is like one of those fake parody movies you see in a comedy and laugh that they actually could make it. A spin the bottle movie?! This is as a hilarious dumb as a Hungry Hungry Hippos horror. The story of a group of teens in small town Texas who unleash a deadly force after playing the famous game in an abandoned house where a grisly massacre once took place. Isn't this plot the same as every other horror film? Starring Tanner Stine, Kaylee Kaneshiro, Tony Amendola, Ryan Whitney, Hal Cumpston, Angela Halili, Samantha Cormier, with Ali Larter and Barbarian's Justin Long. This looks remarkably bad,...

‘Run the Race’ Film Review: Tim Tebow’s Faith-Based Football Saga Elevates the Material a Step or Two
Executive produced by famously Christian retired football player Tim Tebow, “Run the Race” operates differently than most faith-based productions, in the apparent hopes of reaching a younger, wider audience that may or may not be inherently interested in religious entertainment.

Directed by Chris Dowling, this is unequivocally a message-pushing drama, but one with a subtler touch and more artistic merit than many of its thematically linked predecessors.

Its kinetic opening sequence is a sharply edited series of shots following high-school quarterback Zach Truett, as he scores nearly half a dozen touchdowns on game night to get noticed by a Florida Gators scout. All of it is set to rap music and executed with unexpected cinematic flair; in fact, the movie’s first act plays as though this were a secular sports movie.

I got to sit down with Frances Fisher, Kristoffer Polaha, Tanner Stine and Evan Hofer in Los Angeles to talk about their new movie, Run The Race. It’s an inspiring story of two disadvantaged brothers who with courage, determination and faith strengthen their brotherly bond to overcome the odds against them.

We talk about the what gives the brothers strength to keep going, what football and track mean to the brothers, how their father’s alcoholism affects his relationship with his sons and how “run the race” is a metaphor about life’s journey and that the most important thing is to just keep going!

Check out our interview below.

Plot:

Against the backdrop of high school football and track, two brothers in a small southern town face escalating problems with two different world views, straining – but ultimately strengthening – the bonds of brotherhood.

Sarah Drew and Justin Bruening in Indivisible (2018)
‘Indivisible’ Film Review: Faith-Based True Story Champions Communication and Self-Care Over Easy Answers
Sarah Drew and Justin Bruening in Indivisible (2018)
Films about war aren’t always subtle. Neither are films about faith. But some movies find a way to tackle these enormous issues without resorting to simplistic messages, and thank goodness “Indivisible” is one of them.

Directed by David G. Evans (“The Grace Card”), “Indivisible” tells the story of real-life U.S. Army Chaplain Darren Turner and his wife Heather. Together, and separately, they endure the mental, physical and spiritual stresses that come from Darren’s tour of duty in 2007, as he offered support for the soldiers around him but struggled with his own self-care.

Not everyone is looking for emotional support, of course. Some soldiers are just trying to keep their heads down, do their job and not think about the horrors they experience every day. But if they aren’t looking for an earnest heart-to-heart about life’s big questions, Darren can at least remind them to call their...

Sarah Drew and Justin Bruening in Indivisible (2018)
Film Review: ‘Indivisible’
Sarah Drew and Justin Bruening in Indivisible (2018)
Real-life characters face tests of faith in a war zone and on the home front in “Indivisible,” an intelligent drama based on the experiences of decorated Army Chaplain Darren Turner, who was deployed to Iraq in 2007 not long after seminary and basic training, and his wife Heather, who raised their three young children while helping to provide a support system for other military wives at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Capably directed by David G. Evans (“The Grace Card”) and earnestly performed by a proficient cast, this inspirational indie conceivably could extend its appeal beyond the customary audience for faith-based entertainment, despite obvious indications — the combat soldiers here may be the most profanity-averse fighting men and women in any war movie in recent memory — that gritty realism is not a high priority for the filmmakers.

Chaplain Darren Turner (Justin Bruening) arrives in Baghdad more or less as a greenhorn, eager to provide...
