Biography

    • Ben Bocko is an American film, television, and theatre actor and independent director/cinematographer born and raised on the northeastern coast of New England. He is known for his performances in S2 E7 of City on a Hill (2019) and the indie thrillers Abaddon's Pit (2024) and Walk Away (2020). His cinematography and camera work can be seen in documentaries such as The Gaucho (2016) and Making Malinche: A Documentary by Nacho Cano (2021) featuring Hans Zimmer. After shooting/directing numerous shorts & proof of concepts, he most recently has been rapidly climbing the ladder in Visual Effects on heavy-hitting shows such as the acclaimed first season of Ted (2024).

Performing since he was five years old, Ben's first home as a young actor, dancer, and musician was with The New Hampshire Theatre Project in Portsmouth. There, he began learning the art of theatre-making through middle & high school, and ultimately performed in some classics by Chekhov and Shakespeare. While attending Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, he found his second home with the resident Shakespeare troupe, The Oxford Street Players. He performed leading roles three of the four years, and expanded his skill sets as a set builder and lighting technician. From there, he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography, with Minors in Art History and Design. Much of his work in college was also focused heavily on experimental and documentary filmmaking, and he was an early participant in some of the classes that formed the current film program at the school.

After moving to New York City, he completed a 2-year intensive acting program at the Tom Todoroff Conservatory, where he studied with notable faculty such as Austin Pendleton, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Emily Bergl, Miriam Silverman, Julia Lenardon, Giles Foreman, Andrew Wade (RSC), and the late Jean-Claude van Itallie. He continued on to originate numerous roles in various one-act and immersive shows around New York. Most recently on stage in Los Angeles, Ben was understudy for Brody & Levi in Arrowhead, a new play by Catya Mcmullen.
