Gibran Noorani

Gibran Noorani is an Indian screenwriter particularly known for his work in Indian Films, Television and Social Media. He is also a qualified Dentist, since 2009. Early life and Education His father, Shakeel Noorani, is a well-known film producer and director, who made the 2000 Govinda starrer sleeper hit, Joru ka Ghulam. Raised with his father's film influence on him, Gibran always wanted to make movies but because of his introvert nature in childhood, he couldn't express his dreams. This was primarily because of his childhood obesity, which made him a bookworm instead. He cleared his academics from CWC School in Mumbai with flying colours, and joined the Al-Ameen Dental College, Karnataka for his dental degree. It was here in Dental College that Gibran realized his true potential by joining the cultural theatre group, where he used to write, direct and act in College plays. Initially, suffering from stage fear, Gibran slowly groomed himself to be a mainstream anchor, which later boosted his confidence in his career. His cultural activities didn't hamper his academics and was honored with his Doctorate in 2009. In the same year, Gibran expressed his dream of film making to his father but since his family was going through hardships, he decided to practice Dentistry instead. The frustration of going into a shell again and going through a personal rough patch propelled Gibran to daydream stories that he wanted to tell. He started reading online scripts of legendary directors like Quentin Tarantino, Anurag Kashyap and Rajkumar Hirani. With no formal training in writing, Gibran wrote his first script, which made his father realize about Gibran's undiscovered talent. Gibran's family then pushed him to write and achieve his dream.
