Former live-in boyfriend of the late Sondra Locke, whom he met in 1990 while interning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She was only three years younger than his mother.

Eldest of four brothers. His father was born in 1926 (died 1996) and his mother was born in 1941.

Was the basis for the Keanu Reeves character in Tout peut arriver (2003).
