Biography

Freyja Rogue Benjamin, (Rogue) is a graduate from the University of Toronto with a specialist degree in theatre and a minor in English, as well as from George Brown College where she received both a certificate for the ASL and Deaf Studies program and an advanced diploma for ASL-English Interpretation. She actively works as an ASL-English Interpreter in Theatrical Settings. In 2018 she published her first novel, Willow's Story.

Enamoured with history, Rogue focused on Shakespeare where possible and also spent several years studying stage combat at the Rapier Wit fight studio. During this time she also worked on Toronto's harbour as a licensed First Mate on eleven different ships. In addition to working on ships, she has been a tour guide since 2008 doing tours that range from typical city sight seeing to haunted walks.

Working as a freelance model in a myriad of forums from body paint to still life, she enjoys bringing the craft of storytelling to her modelling. It is because of this that she fell into cosplay around 2012. Since then she has been in the cosplay community working conventions as a model, cosplay masquerade judge, panelist with topics such as Cosplay 101, Body Paint and Cosplay =/= Consent. She has also harnessed the attention garnered through cosplay for charity events such as appearing at the annual Alzheimer's Walk for Memories as Wonder Woman, the CJ Skate Park Kids Being Kids events and even hosting her own Cosplay Clean Up annually on Earth Day.

In addition to acting, modelling and cosplay, Rogue loves to paint, write and spend time with her adorable three black cats: Loki, Lilith and Layla.
