The Way Home: Season Three Ratings + Viewer Votes
In December, Hallmark announced that The Way Home would become a Hallmark+ exclusive, and cable viewers would have to subscribe to the service or wait until September to see the episodes on the Hallmark Channel. That didn't go over well, and many viewers threatened to boycott the show. Hallmark Channel acquiesced, and season three is airing on the regular cable channel. After that drama, will enough viewers tune in to ensure the series survives? Will The Way Home be cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned.

A multi-generational family drama series, The Way Home TV show stars Andie MacDowell, Chyler Leigh, Evan Williams, Sadie Laflamme-Snow, Julia Tomasone, Jordan Doww, Jefferson Brown, and Devin Cecchetto. The Way Home (2023)
“The Way Home” Explores Time and Relationships in Latest Episode
The Way Home (2023)
This week’s episode of Hallmark’s “The Way Home,” called “The Way We Were,” mixes past and present very interestingly. While examining themes of love, family, and the mysteries of time travel, it introduces 1974 as a significant new period.

After the exciting season premiere, in which the Landry family found their long-lost son, Jacob, this episode details the problems Kat Landry (Chyler Leigh) and Elliot Augustine (Evan Williams) are having. Despite their significant move-in together, their relationship is tense, especially because of the mysterious pond that allows time travel.

When Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) is pulled back to 1974, Kat follows her. This makes things more tense. During a stressful moment, Kat turns down Elliot’s offer to go with her, which leads to an interesting conversation. “No one said Kat was perfect,” says co-showrunner Heather Conkie. “She’s one of the most flawed characters we’ve ever written,”

‘The Way Home’ Season 3 To Debut On Hallmark Channel As Move To Hallmark+ Is Nixed After Backlash
Image
The Way Home fans have spoken — and Hallmark executives have listened. A couple of weeks after it was announced that the popular Hallmark Channel series starring Andie MacDowell will migrate from the linear cable network to Hallmark+ for its upcoming third season, the decision has been reversed.

The Way Home, which also stars Chyler Leigh, Evan Williams and Sadie Laflamme-Snow, is the No. 1 most-watched program overall on entertainment cable among homes, viewers and women and persons 18+, per Hallmark.

The company clearly wanted to use one of its flagship titles to boost subscriptions for its new streaming platform. But fans were not impressed, expressing frustration that the platform switch would require them to...

Stars: Jordan Doww, Joe Chrest, Robyn Lively, David Koechner, Pablo Castelblanco, Deaton Gabbard, Brady Gentry, J. Craig Gordon, Tatiana Harman, Marissa Reyes | Written by Colby Holt | Directed by Colby Holt, Sam Probst

In mythology, Ganymede was a young man who was so stunningly handsome Zeus had an eagle abduct him and bring him to Olympus to serve as cupbearer to the gods. And, of course, as one of his lovers. In the here and now, Ganymede is the new film from Colby Holt and his partner Sam Probst who previously collaborated on Pig Hag. The film is based in part on their own experiences. I’m assuming they mean growing up LGBTQ in deep South fundamentalist Christian families, not being stalked by something from beyond the grave.

While there are no monsters in the film’s opening scene, it’s certainly ominous enough. A man sits, finishing his cigarette before...

Film Review: ‘Reach’
Teens and their parents have a boatload of issues to deal with these days, and it seems like director Leif Rokesh wants to deal with all of them in “Reach.” Every character represents a superficial snapshot of modern strife in one form or another. Though its heart is in the right place when it comes to many of the boldly-portrayed sentiments, the indie melodrama plays like a hokey, weak after-school special rather than a powerful and alarming wake-up call.

Steven Turano (Garrett Clayton) is going through a rough patch on his first day as a high school senior. This year should be a cake walk, but for the perpetually withdrawn, suicidal teen, life is a torturous prison. His only potential escape route is the unopened bottle of prescription pills tucked away in his backpack. Steven is bullied sun up ’til sundown by men that include his disciplinarian detective father Steve...

First Trailer for Indie Bullying Drama 'Reach' Directed by Leif Rokesh
"Maybe it's time to consider getting some help." Freestyle Digital Media has released the first official trailer for an indie film titled Reach, from first-time filmmaker Leif Rokesh. The honest high school drama is about a social awkward kid named Steven, played by Garrett Clayton (from Hairspray Live! and "The Fosters"), who is planning on killing himself. A new kid in school befriends him and provides some comfort to help him step back. Steven's new friends try to find creative ways to pull him out of his depression. The cast includes Corbin Bernsen, Jordan Doww, Joey Bragg, Johnny James Fiore, Kevin Sizemore, and Concetta Tomei. This looks alright, a bit dour and depressing, perhaps with some positivity to offer. Here's the official trailer (+ posters) for Leif Rokesh's Reach, direct from Freestyle's YouTube: A socially awkward band geek, Steven Turano (Garrett Clayton), is planning on killing himself.
