The wait is finally over… Liza Minnelli is set to appear on “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

RuPaul will be presenting Minnelli with the show’s Giving Us Lifetime Achievement Award on April 18 during the Season 17 finale, and she will be on the show’s main stage to accept. The award recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact on the world of drag and fashion. Past recipients include Bob Mackie and Cassandra Peterson, better known as Elvira.

Minnelli, a prominent gay icon, has been honored on the show before in drag form. In 2010, Alexis Michelle shook her best jazz hands and delivered a dazzling impersonation of the “Cabaret” star. Hannah Conda, La Voix and Scarlett Bobo have also done their turn.

Wednesday night in Hollywood, the stars arrived for the pink carpet premiere of “Drag Race Down Under” Season 4. New host Michelle Visage was the bell of the ball, giving a speech to the packed house and introducing the premiere episode on the big screen. Season 4 of the Australian spin-off of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” debuts in the United States on Friday, November 1 on Wow Presents Plus.

“It’s so wonderful seeing your gorgeous faces out here celebrating drag,” Visage told the crowd (watch below). “This is what we do all of the time. We live, we eat, we sleep, we breathe it. I don’t know who I’d be without the inspiration of drag in my life every day.”

On December 23, 2022, World of Wonder served up Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs. The World season finale, and audiences want to know more about the second runner-up, Rita Baga. Step aside, Sansa Stark, there’s a new Queen of the North. With Jimbo’s screams still echoing throughout the workroom, Thursday’s season finale of Canada’s Drag Race (now streaming on Wow Presents Plus) crowned the world’s first-ever Canadian Drag Superstar.

In keeping with tradition, the three remaining queens — Priyanka, Rita Baga and Scarlett BoBo — were tasked with recording and performing their own verses to a RuPaul smash, “You Wear It Well.” From Priyanka’s confidence and attitude to Rita’s vocals and overall runway presence, the queens were firing on all cylinders.

After one season of “Canada’s Drag Race,” we’re all feeling “true north strong and fierce,” right? But the competition’s first-ever Canadian adaptation has proven to be a particularly unexpected delight, and after spending just 10 weeks up north, we’re not ready for the race to end.

Rita Baga fell into the bottom and had to lip sync for the first time, but was able to outlast Lemon who was sent home. Priyanka and Rita were joined for a trip to the final four by Jimbo and Scarlett BoBo.

In the end, Rita Baga earned her third overall win, making her a clear frontrunner as the field of queens narrowed. Rita Baga became the first two-time challenge winner, leading her group to victory with their made-from-plastic creations. On the losing side was Team Paper, with Tynomi Banks and Ilona Verley declared the bottom two of the week. Despite Ilona’s dramatic overreaction and not wanting to go head-to-head against her friend, Tynomi’s third straight trip to the lip sync was one too many and the judges had no choice but to send her home.

In the third episode, the queens spiced things up as dueling pop music girl groups featuring shady rap battle lyrics in “Not Sorry Aboot It.” Priyanka nabbed her first overall win while Tynomi Banks fell into the bottom two for the second straight week. In the second episode, the queens rewrote herstory by overacting in spoofs of famed Canadian history ads “Heritage Minutes.” Lemon, who was in the bottom two the first week, rose to the top to become the second challenge winner. Kyne and Tynomi Banks faced off in the lip sync for your life with Tynomi winning out, sending Kyne on her way home.

Umc has announced the renewal of four original series: “Craig Ross Jr.’s Monogamy,” “A House Divided,” “Stuck With You” and “Double Cross.” “Craig Ross Jr.’s Monogamy” and “A House Divided” will be returning for their third seasons, whereas “Stuck With You” and “Double Cross” have been renewed for second seasons. The renewals are due to the rapid growth of Umc, AMC Networks’ streaming service focusing on Black TV and film, which has seen a 200% increase in subscribers over the last year.

Logo has announced that “Canada’s Drag Race” will make its U.S. debut on July 27 at 8 p.m. The 10-episode series is the Canadian extension of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and is hosted by season 11 runner-up Brooke Lynn Hytes.

In the series premiere, the 12 queens introduced us to some of Canada’s most iconic fashion statements in a fabric-in-a-box costume challenge. Self-described weirdo Jimbo and the girl with a bad reputation Boa were among the top performers, but were bested by the first maxi challenge winner of the season, Montreal’s Rita Baga.
