Solomon Grey is the London-based musical project of Tom Kingston and Joe Wilson. The pair met in Wilson's hometown of Oxford, playing in bands and quickly bonding over their shared love of music. The duo began writing together with a heavy emphasis on production - blurring the lines between live instrumentation and programming, and drawing influences from contemporary heavyweights like Dave Sitek, James Murphy and Little Dragon. However, it wasn't until the duo moved to the West Coast of Ireland, leaving their home behind, that Solomon Grey was born. Writing in isolation away from the distractions of London, the early demos the duo wrote reflected the city they had left behind. Then, in a twist of fate, Kingston was uprooted and moved to a family farm in rural Australia. Not giving in, the duo moved the studio to Australia and spent the next two years writing and producing what would become an album.

The duo returned to the UK in early 2013, hooking up first with tastemaker label Black Butter to release their enduring debut single "Gen V", which heralded as the "future of Radio 1" by Zane Lowe and "utterly stunning" by BBC 6's Lauren Laverne. A second single on Black Butter, "Firechild", followed in November 2013 and brought the band to the attention of Kitsuné, who included the b-side "Last Century Man" on their "New Faces" compilation in March 2014.

Not content with producing stunning slices of electronica, the duo were also developing as veritable and skilled composers, quickly becoming renowned for the unique mix of conventional classical composition and contemporary production that is distinctly Solomon Grey on first listen. During early 2014 the duo wrote the soundtrack to "The Wild Atlantic Way" - a project for Tourism Ireland. Soon after, the band were scoring the BFI feature film "Gozo" , along with other jobs for Sky and CHI. Most recently Solomon Grey have been commissioned to score the BBC / HBO adaptation of JK Rowling's The Casual Vacancy.

The band's third single "Electric Baby", accompanied by an interactive video, was developed in partnership with Google, and further enhanced their reputation as writers of catchy pop melodies complemented by Wilson's unique and haunting vocals. The vocal production has become their distinct identity, which can be heard on various collaborations including on US deep house producer Lane 8's single "Diamonds", released via Anjunadeep in November 2014. Solomon Grey transcends many mediums and genres, all united by the duo's shared artistic and creative vision.
