Jonathan Weir(IV)

Jonathan Weir is an award-winning actor and filmmaker based in Meanjin (Brisbane), Australia. He gained recognition for his role as Clay Lloyd in Sons of Summer, starring alongside Temuera Morrison and Isabel Lucas. His stage work includes Toy Symphony with Ad Astra and Shakespeare in Love with Shepherd's Purse Theatre Company, with one critic stating, "Watching Weir is like getting a preview of a major star in the early years of what is going to be an extraordinary career." In 2023, he won Best Actor at the Liverpool Independent International Film Festival for Bitter Coffee, followed by a Best Lead Actor award at the 2024 Martini Awards for Full Out. In 2025, Jonathan will play Doc in the WWII film Deadman's Landing and take on his first leading feature role in the romantic comedy The One Thing.

As a director, Jonathan won the Compelling Content Award at the 2019 CMAA Excellence in Media Awards and received two nominations the following year. His most recent film Aipocalypse is set to premiere at the Gold Coast Film Festival in 2025.
