Recently named as one of Forbes' 30 Under 30 on the Hollywood & Entertainment List for 2025, Julia Stier serves as the Head of Development for Cold Iron Pictures. This award-winning indie production company is best known for producing Noah Baumbach's Oscar-nominated "The Squid and the Whale," the Daniels' "Swiss Army Man," Spirit Award-winner "The Diary of a Teenage Girl," James Gunn's "Super," Oscar-nominee Lily Gladstone indie "Jazzy," and most recently, writer-director Amanda Kramer's Sundance opening night film, "By Design."

In addition to her work in development, Stier is an award-winning writer, whose work has been seen on stages from Alaska to New York. Select playwriting credits include "Last Night in Town" (Off-off Broadway, Manhattan Repertory Theatre), "Home Girls" (Ophelia's Jump Productions, CA), "Peach Pie" (Queen's Theatre, as a part of their Theatre for All Program), and "Callbacl" (Valdez Theatre Festival, Alaska; later adapted into a short film by Whole of the Moon Productions). Her original historical drama miniseries "10 Days in a Madhouse" - based on the writings by real life investigative journalist Nellie Bly - has a producer attached, and will be going out in the new year.

In addition to her success on stage and screen, Stier has also written multiple audio dramas, including an episode for the channel Black Box Radio titled "Remember This", which stars "Killers of the Flower Moon" actress, Cara Jade Meyers.

For acting, you can catch Stier in theaters in the Dominican Republic in the romantic comedy feature, "The Wedding Factory", alongside Kuno Becker (Disney's "Goal!"). This year on the TV side, Julia starred as "Dani" in Nicole Santolo's ADA sitcom spec pilot "Wheels", which had its premiere on the Warner Brothers Studios lot.

On the stage, Stier has played leading and supporting roles in productions of "Hamlet", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "The Tempest", "Essie Jones: A New Musical", "Romeo and Juliet", and "The Skin of Our Teeth", for which she was nominated for an LA Drama Critics' Award. She has appeared in productions for Theatricum Botanicum, The Independent Shakespeare Co., Manhattan Repertory Theatre, Hero Theatre, and director Kelly Ward.

She is an alumna of The University of Southern California.
