Jack Weisman(II)

Jack Weisman is an award-winning director and Emmy® nominated cinematographer whose experiential films defy easy classification. His unconventional and evocative work has been programmed at hundreds of international film festivals, including Sundance, SXSW, TIFF, IDFA, True/False, Sheffield DocFest, and Hot Docs. Jack's Oscar® Shortlisted directorial debut, Nuisance Bear (2022), received over 40 awards and nominations, including prizes from Cinema Eye Honors, Critics' Choice Awards, and IDA Documentary Awards. The 13-minute film is distributed by The New Yorker and available for free online. Jack is in production on his feature debut to be released in 2025.

In 2016, Jack co-founded the Emmy and Peabody award-winning production company Documist with his childhood friends from Ithaca, NY. Jack was an Executive Producer for The Territory (2022), directed by Alex Pritz and produced by Darren Aronofsky, Will Miller, and Sigrid Dyekjaer. The Territory premiered at Sundance, where it received a Special Jury Prize and the Audience Award for World Cinema Documentary. The Territory was Shortlisted for an Academy Award® and won both an Emmy® and Peabody®. The Territory is distributed by National Geographic Documentary Films and available worldwide on Disney+.

Jack is a dual citizen of Canada and the USA. He lives in Toronto and can often be found walking a hairless dog in High Park.
