Ryan Coogler Teases ‘Sinners’ Themes And Supernatural Elements Beyond Vampires In His “Personal Love Letter” To Cinema
Image
A second trailer for Ryan Coogler’s fifth directorial feature film Sinners has arrived, and there is much to sink teeth into.

The horror film centers on Michael B. Jordan’s twins who return to their hometown to escape their troubled lives, only to realize that an even bigger threat lies in wait at home. Coogler hinted that vampires wouldn’t be “the only supernatural element” the film deals with. Coogler also opened up about how personal making the film was to him.

“Each time I’ve made a film it’s become more and more personal. With this one I was digging into two relationships, one with my maternal grandfather who I never met. He died about a year before I was born,” Coogler said in a virtual press conference held by Warner Bros. yesterday. “He was from Merrill, Mississippi and eventually moved to Oakland, married my grandmother and...

12 Highly Anticipated Horror Movies Coming in 2025
Image
When you purchase through our links, we may earn an affiliate commission.

2024 was a great year for horror fans as we got horrifyingly beautiful films like Nosferatu and Longlegs. While 2024 was a great year, 2025 is going to be something as we will see the release of much-anticipated films like the Last Conjuring film and Guillermo del Toro‘s take on the classic novel Frankenstein. So, we decided to compile a list of the most anticipated horror films that are coming in 2025.

Presence (January 24) Credit – Neon

Presence is an upcoming supernatural horror thriller film directed by Steven Soderbergh from a screenplay by David Koepp. The upcoming film revolves around a family who move into a suburban neighborhood and soon believe their house is haunted. While the plot for Presence sounds like a typical horror film, the ultimate twist, aka hook for the upcoming Soderbergh film, is that the film is shot from the ghost’s perspective.

The Sinners Trailer Doesn't Want You To Know It's About Vampires For Some Reason
Image
When Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan join forces, magic happens. The duo's prior efforts are all certified bangers that helped skyrocket Jordan to superstardom and earned Coogler the distinction of being behind the highest-grossing film of all time by an African American director. While Marvel has been struggling to get their "Blade" movie off the ground, Coogler and Jordan swept in to make the new vampire flick "Sinners," which horror fans have been thirsting after for months. Warner Bros. has kept details about the film pretty close to the chest, but with a logline floating around online and some paparazzi photos snapped of Jordan in period-attire, "Sinners" is rapidly ascending its way to the top of my list of most anticipated releases of 2025. Here's the logline:

"Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even...

Seth Meyers Laughs So Hard He Makes No Noise During Interview With Amy Poehler | Video
Image
Who says you need a project to appear on late night? On Thursday, Amy Poehler swung by “Late Night with Seth Meyers” without any projects to promote, but to instead talk about the books she’s been reading this year and to make Meyers laugh so hard he was incapable of sound.

The memorable moment happened roughly seven-and-a-half minutes into the pair’s interview. While talking about Virginia Woolf’s “A Room of One’s Own,” Meyers excused himself to sneeze.

“Oh my god, a sneeze! Everybody stand up!” Poehler cheerfully said.

As the audience cheered and jumped to their feet, Meyers buried his head in his hands, unable to contain his laughter. During the roughly 30 seconds he was laughing, only a couple of his chuckles could be heard. His response caused Poehler to burst into laughter too.

Poehler initially explained she came onto her former “Saturday Night Live” buddy...

Interview with the Vampire season 3: listen to Lestat’s first single right here!
Anne Rice
Just last month, AMC announced that they had ordered a third season of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire – and that with season 3, the show would be moving on to the events of the second novel in Rice’s Vampire Chronicles series, The Vampire Lestat! In this story, Lestat becomes the frontman in a rock band, something that carries over into the events of the third book, The Queen of the Damned. That’s why those books were mashed together for the 2002 film Queen of the Damned, where Lestat’s singing voice was provided by Jonathan Davis of Korn. If you’ve been curious to hear what Lestat’s singing voice will sound like on the Interview with the Vampire TV series, AMC has you covered: they’ve just released Lestat’s first single, “Long Face,” and you can check it out in the embed above.

Here’s the synopsis: Resentful of the perfunctory portrayal in the trashy bestseller Interview With the Vampire, the Vampire Lestat sets his story straight in a way only the Vampire Lestat can — by starting a band and going on tour. Gabrielle. Nicholas. Magnus. Marius. Those Who Must Be Kept. They join Louis, Armand, Molloy, Sam, Raglan, Fareed and others we can’t tell you about...

Interview with the Vampire season 2 gets a new trailer ahead of May premiere

Interview with the Vampire season 2 images show Lestat in two different time periods
Image
After a brief halt in production, AMC was able to secure “significant agreements” with the SAG-AFTRA actors union that allowed them to continue filming Interview with the Vampire season 2 during the SAG strike (which finally ended last month), keeping the show on track for its 2024 premiere. A specific premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, but TV Insider has gotten their hands on a pair of images that show Sam Reid back in the role of the vampire Lestat – and it looks like these images show Lestat in two different time periods. You can check them out at the bottom of this article.

Executive producer Mark Johnson has previously said that Interview with the Vampire season 2 takes place in the 1790s, 1940s, 1970s, and 2023. TV Insider is guessing that one image shows Lestat in the 1790s, while the other shows him in the 1940s.

Interview with the Vampire season 2 clip allows Claudia to participate in a vampire feast

After a brief halt in production, AMC was able to secure “significant agreements” with the SAG-AFTRA actors union that allowed them to continue filming Interview with the Vampire season 2 (as well as the Walking Dead spin-offs Daryl Dixon and The Ones Who Live), keeping the show on track for its 2024 premiere. Now AMC has released a clip from Interview with the Vampire season 2 that largely focuses on a conversation between Louis and a vampire from the Theatre des Vampires, but also gives a glimpse of Delainey Hayles as Claudia, a character who was played by Bailey Bass in the first season. And it allows Claudia to participate in a vampire feast.

Bass had to drop out of the Claudia role due to “a variety of unforeseen circumstances”.

Interview with the Vampire season 2 halts production due to actors strike

The second season of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire TV series has been filming primarily in Prague since April (with other locations including Paris and New Orleans) – but Deadline has been able to confirm that the production has now been halted due to the Screen Actors Guild strike. Interview with the Vampire season 2: Delainey Hayles replaces Bailey Bass as Claudia
The second season of AMC’s Interview with the Vampire TV series is set to begin filming in Prague this week (before moving on to other locations like Paris and New Orleans), but before the cameras start rolling we have some unexpected casting news to report. Deadline has broken the news that Bailey Bass will not be reprising the role of teen vampire Claudia in season 2. Instead, she’s being replaced by Delainey Hayles, whose previous credits include the TV shows Too Close on ITV and Holby City on the BBC.

AMC provided the following statement: “Bailey Bass is a talented actor who did a remarkable job bringing the character of Claudia to life in Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire. For a variety of reasons, Delainey Hayles will appear as Claudia in season two. We are grateful for Bailey’s unforgettable performance in season one and wish her nothing but the best.

Interview with the Vampire season 2 adds Ben Daniels as the vampire Santiago
Image
AMC is so dedicated to building a franchise out of the books and characters from Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, they ordered a second season of the Interview with the Vampire TV series before the first season had even started airing. The first season wrapped up its seven episode run back in November, and now it’s time to start looking ahead to season 2. Deadline reports that Ben Daniels (Foundation) has signed on for a series regular role in Interview with the Vampire season 2, and he will be playing the character Santiago, “the leading vamp thespian of the Theatre des Vampires who grows increasingly suspicious of the American vampires Louis and Claudia.” When Interview with the Vampire was brought to the screen in 1994, Santiago was played by Stephen Rea.

Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches: AMC’s Anne Rice shows will have crossovers
Anne Rice
AMC is building a franchise out of the Vampire Chronicles novels written by Anne Rice, a franchise that began with the first season of their Interview with the Vampire series. Last Sunday, they started airing a series based on Rice’s Mayfair Witches novels – a series appropriately titled Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches (read our review Here). And during an AMC panel at a recent Critics Association presentation, executive producers of these shows revealed that they won’t be entirely separate. Viewers will see crossovers between Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches… which makes sense, since the Vampire Chronicles stories did become entwined with the Mayfair Witches series as they went on.

Esta Spaulding and Michelle Ashford, both of whom previously worked on Masters of Sex, are writers and executive producers on Mayfair Witches, and during the AMC panel Spaulding said there is one character who appears in both series already.

Interview with the Vampire season 2 has already been ordered by AMC
Image
AMC is working to build a franchise out of the books and characters from Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, so it’s not too surprising to hear that they’ve already ordered season 2 of Interview with the Vampire, which doesn’t begin airing until October 2nd – although I was hoping we’d be getting mini-series adaptations of each book in the series, rather than an ongoing Interview with the Vampire series.

Variety has confirmed that Interview with the Vampire season 2 will consist of eight episodes and will take place in Europe.

AMC’s Dan McDermott provided the following statement: “The scope and breadth of this show, and what Mark and Rolin have delivered, is just stupendous. They have rendered the rich and vibrant world of Anne Rice’s Interview in a wonderful way, and we’re incredibly proud. From the set build, to production design, costumes and more — no detail was overlooked.
