Less than a year ago, Glitch Productions uploaded the pilot episode of “The Amazing Digital Circus” to YouTube with a plea to help them fund a full season. Now, 346 million views later, “The Amazing Digital Circus” is coming to Netflix while continuing to premiere new episodes on YouTube.

A deceptively cheery-looking animated series about life under the big top, the Australian animated series is a delightfully dark comedy about, as Glitch Productions wrote on its website, “A woman gets trapped in a crazy virtual world along with five other humans and are now subject to the whims of wacky AI and their own personal traumas.” Or, put another way, “What if it was ‘Toy Story,’ but everyone was a jerk?”

Created and directed by Gooseworx (also a composer on “Hazbin Hotel”) and produced by Glitch Productions, “The Amazing Digital Circus” will premiere Episodes 1–3 on Netflix October 4, the same day the third episode premieres on YouTube.

Anime distributor Discotek Media has released a statement regarding the controversy surrounding its recently released English dub of the classic romantic comedy Lovely Complex.

MediaOCD CEO Justin Sevakis went online to discuss the brewing controversy of the Lovely Complex English dub that was produced by Sound Cadence Studios and was released in January by Discotek Media. "We are aware of the comments made by a contractor that worked on Lovely Complex," the statement reads. "The English version was made with the supervision and approval of the show's original producers. Dubs commonly punch up comedy and smooth over rough patches so that the end product aligns with the show's intended audience and provokes the intended response, and there will always be shades of grey when adapting a work. Digimon the Movie, the 2000 Americanized anime movie built from various films in the Digimon franchise, is receiving a new home media release that includes the original versions of the film, as well as a new English dub.

On Twitter, Discotek Media announced its plans for releasing the Digimon movies at Otakon 2023, held in Washington, DC. "Digimon the Movies is... The original Digimon Adventure movie, Our War Game, Hurricane Touchdown, & Digimon the Movie!" Discotek Media said. "The original versions of the films w/ new uncut dubs w/ the classic cast, plus Japanese audio w/ subs. Digimon the Movie has also been newly remastered in HD."
