Brian K. Landis

Brian K. Landis grew up in rural Virginia where he and his friends entertained themselves with baseball, camping, skateboarding, heavy metal, and a fair amount of trouble. Early on, he developed a love of stage acting that continued to build throughout his teenage years in school and community theatre. In 1992, he moved to Richmond, Virginia where he attended Virginia Commonwealth University and studied a mixture of theatre, dance, and mass communications, but struggled to find his academic calling. At the same time, he flourished fronting noise rock bands, experimenting with performance art, and making films with friends. After eight years, for a much-needed change, he moved to San Diego, California where he continued writing music, dabbled in small theatre productions, and fell in love with climbing mountains in the Sierras, camping in the desert, and trail running the endless canyons. Returning to Richmond in 2006 refocused his love of performance and he began writing and directing his own films (Kill Jar, Song of the Common Loon, Manhammer). His acting credits include as a cult leader in M. Night Shyamalan's "Servant", a dour slave-catcher in Focus Feature's "Harriet", a clueless suburban dad in "American Dreamer" opposite Jim Gaffigan, and as Alfre Woodard's cross-country bus driver in the Netflix feature "Juanita". He also played Warren Murphy in the Apple series Swagger.
