Nathan Slattery was born August, 9, 1970 in Crosshaven Cork, Ireland. His father Cornelius Slattery worked as a manager with Ford Ireland and his mother Siobhan worked with Interior Design. Nathan has four siblings including three sisters and one brother.

After nearly dying at the age of one, his parents sought help from Nutritional Specialist's throughout Ireland for a remedy for Nathan's unknown ailment, with no answers. When Dr. Murphy visited the family owned "Shamrock" Bar he fortunately had the long awaited answer and diagnosed Nathan as a ceoliac.

He was given a classical education in Latin, Irish, French, Civics, and Music at Christian Brothers College. His first introduction to acting was through his experience at school. He played in "Oliver Twist" and "The Wizard of Oz" which brought him out of his shyness. His mother knew that her eldest son had an artistic flair at the age of 9, when he sang in falsetto tenor "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" from "The Wizard of Oz" musical. She also encouraged him at an early age of 11 to take martial arts classes and at age 16 he received his karate Black Belt.

Upon leaving school early at age 18 he received a short lived position in the Irish Navy followed by sponsorship as an Auto Engineer with CAB Motor Co. William Wyler's Vacances romaines (1953) with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck inspired his interest with Vintage Vespa and Lambretta bikes and he started his own business with two-stroke light engine repairs.

The Mod classic look as Koole Katz Scooter Club Founder President earned him a position with the illusive Proco Model Agency. Nathan was made the "Male Face for 1995" and for the first time he appeared with his agent Clare Cullinane on the National TV show Talkabout (1990). Clare supported his talent and suggested that he gain some tools in the art of drama. After undergoing a two-day successful audition marathon with Coordinator Neville Carlisle-Style, Nathan received a place at Bull Alley Dublin.

Nathan attended a reading sit-in with the Cork Shakespearian Company for "Taming of The Shrew" after rekindling a school friendship with Peter Cashman. Peter introduced him to Piarce Gunn the director of the company. Spontaneously, upon meeting the director, Nathan quoted a monologue Marullus from Julius Caesar's opening scene "Wherefore rejoice what conquest brings he home". He successfully read for Hortensio. Rachel Sarah Murphy played Katherine the Shrew. Following this a George Bernard Shaw play "Heart Break House" Nathan played Randal the angst ridden husband of Lady Utterwood. Succeeding this role, a stream of parts were presented to Nathan from audience director talent spotters."Sive", John B. Keane, playing a bodhran singing gypsy boy. Jason of Argonaut in "Medea" touring Ireland and receiving several awards. "A Mid-Summer's Night Dream" as Puck. Michael Finn, a senior actor who played Pats Bocock father of Carthalawn in the play "Sive" was delighted for Nathan with his play review. Michael Finn suggested that he audition for Lee Strasberg N.Y. During the N.Y.audition Nathan re-enacted an effective memory scene based on his cat Ginger. During the re-enactment Nancy Collins the Coordinator noticed Nathan's intense sensitivity and presence. The following year he received a second scholarship for the Lee Strasberg L.A. Upon returning to Ireland, he filled a lead role with the film Argideen (2003) as the director needed an instant double and his brother Conor Slattery was busy with another project. The Irish civil war film "Argideen" was Nathan's first film break followed by a horror movie titled Carphone Scarehouse (2003).

In 2004, Nathan auditioned for Warner Brothers Superman Returns (2006) and the Casting Director mentioned that Nathan would play a great villain. After not being granted the role, Nathan travelled to China and Mongolia where he bought a souvenir box of terra cotta soldiers. The magic box was the genesis for the idea for his 4-award-winning time-travel Sci-Fi film Biopsy Shake (2005). This success was followed by another Gael Taca Award for his title film Mr Spoon (Tuiseal Spuinneog) (2007). He then travelled to Sri Lanka and Axum Ethiopia to research his current pet side project, a Sci-Fi film Stoa. In the film, the protagonist must travel through 12 portals to reach the End of the world where the Island Stoa ascends 5047 C.E.

Since 2007. Nathan played lead Vocalist with the Electronic Band "LLEXX" that toured Ireland. Nathan performed "Up There Titanic" at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival at the Tron Church. Nathan travelled to Vancouver, Canada for 9 weeks and returned to Ireland for Christmas to record an album titled "The Woman Who Loved Too Much". He returned again to Canada in the first quarter of 2013 and hasn't returned since. His performance competing in Karate Provincials gained him International Silver and Bronze medals with Gold in Zone 5 for Kumite Combat.

Being of Irish decent, Nathan has lived in Irish-speaking areas known as Na Gaeltacht. These communities continue traditions such as the art of story-telling and drama, the making of musical instruments, basketry, and Irish dancing. Nathan learned the trade of Stone Masonry in Connemara and enjoys playing his favorite tune "The March of Brian Boru" on his traditional harp. Nathan holds a Teachers A.L.C.M. Diploma in Acting through the Thames University. While in Canada, he has hosted well-attended drama workshops in the Vancouver Downtown Eastside, the Yukon, and in Pemberton. His experience includes working with the Mount Currie First Nations Band.

His former Irish agent mentioned that Nathan reminds her of a young Richard Harris. Films such as "A Man Called Horse", "Midnight Cowboy", "1984", "East of Eden", "Orlando", "Dolls", "The Man Who Fell to Earth", "Good Evening Mr. Lawerence","True Romance", "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events," "Pink Panther "and "Ferris Buellers Day Off" shaped Nathan. John Hughes' La Folle Journée de Ferris Bueller (1986) is an instrumental film that changed his life. Nathan studies Prajapita Meditation which is a self-motivating and empowering meditation. He believes in divine application and places a premium on the spiritual dimension of performance. At the end of a meeting, while out shopping for a Vancouver film agent, he noticed an open office door from the corner of his eye as he was about to exit the building. A "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" poster was displayed on the inside wall of the office. Nathan conversed with a woman diligently working behind a computer monitor and asked, "Are you an agency?". Upon the impromptu meeting, Nathan is delighted to have found a kismet match with the CUE Agency with representation from Jenn Andrusco.
