Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, Sophie began dancing at the age of three and trained in classical ballet, contemporary dance and jazz throughout her childhood, performing and competing both nationally and internationally. After graduating from the Philippa Campbell School of Ballet in 2013, Sophie received a full scholarship to spend the summer at the Joffrey Ballet School in Manhattan, New York where she was later offered a place as a full-time classical student. Around the same time, Sophie landed the role of Honour Aleni on the much loved New Zealand series Shortland Street (1992), and fell in love with film and television. Since, she has split her time between acting and dancing professionally, and completing bachelors and masters degrees in politics at the University of Auckland.
