Austin Nichols is opening up about how “weird” and “wrong” it was for him to kiss a 15-year-old Mary-Kate Olsen while filming a movie together.
In the 2001 film Holiday in the Sun, Nichols played Griffen Grayson, a love interest to Olsen’s Madison Stewart. And on a recent episode of the Drama Queens podcast, hosted by his former One Tree Hill costars Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton Morgan and Bethany Joy Lenz, the actor reflects on playing the part.
“I was definitely nervous because Mary-Kate was 15, and I was, I think, 18 or 19, or maybe even 20. I don’t remember, but I was too old,” he said. “It felt weird and it felt wrong.” Nichols was 21 years old when the movie was released.

UK sales outfit Film Seekers has closed a series of deals on its feature documentary Envoy: Shark Cull. Pic is a conservation doc focusing on controversial shark control programs operated in Queensland and New South Wales, Australia. Directed by Andre Borell and produced by Reese Lowe for Hype Project Productions, and narrated by Eric Bana, the movie shot in 4K in multiple locations including Australia, Hawai’i, Fiji, Bahamas, South Africa and features renowned ocean and shark conservationists such as Ocean Ramsay, Madison Stewart, Paul De Gelder and Juan Oliphant. Heritage Films has taken rights for Australia and New Zealand and will release theatrically on July 21. Sparky Pictures will release in the UK and Ireland, with France acquired by Factoris Films. Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef will be showcased to a live audience across Australia this weekend as part of Northern Pictures’ Reef Live.
In an Australian first, the two-part program will real-time visual insights of the once-yearly phenomenon of the majestic mass coral spawn as it unfolds.
Hosts Hamish Macdonald, Brooke Satchwell (SeaChange), and scientist and inventor Dr Jordan Nguyen will be joined an array of world experts looking at ways to preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the reef for the future.
The broadcast will also follow the subsequent breeding bonanza of fish, birds, and turtles within the aquatic environment.
It will be the second of two productions from the company to air on the ABC this week, following Wild Australia: After the Fires on Tuesday.

Forget the fact that you have a better chance of being struck by lightning than being devoured by a Great White shark- all anyone remembers is that trouble maker Steven Spielberg embellishing in our brains the image of Robert Shaw serving as a human smorgasbord for Bruce, the mechanical shark.
