Jalea got her love of film from her Dad, who took her to movies a lot when she was growing up.

Jalea wrote, directed, and edited movies while a high school senior at Rock Island High School in Rock Island, IL.

Jalea was a highly-recruited track star for the Rock Island High School track team.

Jalea's favorite films include "Dreamgirls" (2006), "Set It Off" (1996), and "Moonlight" (2016).
