Ben grew up just outside of Portland, OR. He studied Film at Portland State University and worked as a Production Assistant on the 4th season of IFC's Portlandia. After his work on the TV show he successfully created a crowd funding campaign for his next short film, Mystery Spot. The film premiered to a sell out audience at the 5th Ave Cinema in downtown Portland and from there went on to win an award for "Best Thriller" at the Oregon Independent Film Festival and air on OPB's "Oregon Lens".
