Aldo graduated Bachelor of Arts from Jakarta Institute of Art (IKJ), where he received a full scholarship and achieved Cum Laude. His thesis, Angin, was critically acclaimed, nominated for Best Short Film at the 2010 Festival Film Indonesia, and was screened at both domestic and international film festivals. He is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents Tokyo 2022.
After years of being an assistant director, his career as a director started with 2 seasons of Brata, a HOOQ/Maxstream original crime series, followed by Dunia Maya, a Vision+ original drama series. His feature film debut, Kadet 1947, where he worked as both the director and screenwriter, won 2 awards in Indonesian Screen Awards for Best Film and Best Directing at the 16th JAFF 2021. The film also earned him a Citra Award nomination at the 2022 FFI for Best Original Screenplay, along with six other nominations. In 2024, he wrote a horror film, Pernikahan Arwah: The Butterfly House.
As a producer, he co-produced Preman in 2021, a film directed by Randolph Zaini. In 2024, he produced Samsara, a cine-concert film directed by Garin Nugroho.
