Chanel Young was born in Washington, D.C., and raised around the world due to her family's military background, which gave her the unique opportunity to experience diverse cultures from a young age. Her remarkable ability to blend joy with pain consistently results in standout performances across all her endeavors, showcasing her extraordinary talent.
With over 20 years of experience in singing and performing for both local and national audiences, Chanel began her acting and modeling career in 2001. She initially attended North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, majoring in Electronic Media and Journalism before shifting her focus to Theater.
Chanel has received several accolades for her work, including the Best Supporting Actress award in Greensboro, N.C., during the 2014 Pitchvine Film Awards. She has also won the Best Actress award at two International Short Film Festivals.
Her passion for the arts has driven Chanel to participate in numerous fashion shows, theatrical productions, and short films. Notably, she had her first supporting role in the major historical film All Eyez on Me, portraying Tupac's Aunt Linda. She also received credits for her role as the Charrette Secretary in The Best of Enemies, starring Taraji P. Henson and Sam Rockwell.
Recently, Chanel filmed her first lead role in a feature film titled Grip, written and directed by Brandon Bias. Currently, she is touring with the popular stage play Mamas Girls, written and directed by Garrett Davis. Chanel has been part of this production for over 10 years, demonstrating her dedication and love for theater.
Chanel is committed to her acting career and plans to continue sharing her gift with the world for many years to come. She believes her talent serves a greater purpose, hoping to inspire and minister to others through her art.
