Enjoying your vampiric psychotherapy in Vampire Therapist? Developer Little Bat Games has more in store for you starting today with the first update, entitled “The Blood of Troy”. Free to play for existing owners, this series of content updates will allow players to administer therapy to their mentor, a 3000-year-old vampire with a troubled history of his own.
The Blood of Troy follows the story of the founding of Rome through the eyes of an immortal vampire. Two more free updates, entitled “Spanish Nights” and “Fathoms Below”, will explore the history of pre-Renaissance Spain and the birth of psychoanalysis, respectively. Both will be released later this year.
“Vampire Therapist has touched players in ways we could not have anticipated. With our talented, lean studio, we thought we could scrounge up a nice treat to invite players back into our world to learn more about our oldest vampire,” said Cyrus Nemati,...

Little Bat Games’ debut title in the darkly humorous Vampire Therapist is out today on Steam. Inspired by the likes of What We Do in the Shadows and Horrible Histories, Vampire Therapist merges a comedic style with “deep, introspective subject matters and heartfelt characters and real-life historical personalities.”
The story sees players step into the boots of Sam, a cowboy (and vampire) from the Old West who is looking to change his murderous ways and connect with what’s left of his soul. Looking for answers in his immortality, Sam travels to Europe and is taken under the (bat)wing of reformed assassin, warrior and undead heartthrob Andromachos.
Together, they help blood-sucking immortals realise that just because they’re dead, it doesn’t mean they can’t live. All of the techniques discussed and used in Vampire Therapist were created in consultation with licensed therapists to give the game an authentic message.

Little Bat Games is keen on finding out just what makes vampires tick with their debut title, Vampire Therapist. Coming to Steam on June 17, players will be putting that armchair psychiatrist role to the test with real-life therapy techniques as you examine and deconstruct vampire psyches from different historical periods.
Vampire Therapist is described as a narrative adventure that takes the darkly humourous cues from What We Do in the Shadows (which is starting production on its final season), the horror works of Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and Horrible Histories. The story follows Sam, a former cowboy turned vampire who is looking for meaning in his own immortality. Luckily for Sam, there’s Andromachos, an undead reformed warrior and assassin who also happens to be a 3,000-year-old therapist.
Throughout the game, you’ll be meeting up with a variety of clients: self-hating vampires, agoraphobic social media addicts, supernatural narcissists, and victims of centuries-old capitalistic systems.
