Michael Gmur(I)
- Actor
On August 22nd, Michael can be seen in theaters across the country opposite Margaret Qualley for the release of Ethan Coen's "Honey Don't!" in not one, but two roles. When Michael asked Ethan why he cast him in two different roles, Ethan replied, "Well, you're a great actor." Unfortunately, Michael didn't have his phone out to record Mr. Coen, but in that moment you could have knocked him over with a feather. Michael's first role in a major film was in"Book Club" where he acted as the comedic relief opposite Jane Fonda and Don Johnson. Since then, Michael has taken on a wide range of Lead and strong supporting roles in various feature films ranging from the masked killer in "Straight On Till Morning" most recently playing at the Sydney Film Festival, to the gay conservative in "I Voted", a suspense thriller starring Eric Roberts. Michael has had the opportunity to train with some of the best including Donald Petrie (Director of Grumpy Old Men, and Miss Congeniality) and most recently has trained with Richard Robichaux who can be seen in almost every Linklater film, has a recurring role on Paradise and has taught at several elite acting programs including Yale. Michael graduated with a BA in theater in 2015 and before that served in the Marine Corps from 2006-2010 where he deployed to Afghanistan with Marine Special Operations Command and got out as a Sgt. Outside of acting, Michael enjoys spending time outside. He loves hiking, camping, swimming, and doing yoga. Most recently Michael climbed Mount Fuji after finishing some work on a AAA video game in Japan. in 2019 Michael solo walked 3,333 miles from Portland Maine to San Diego California raising money for homeless veterans. Michael also enjoys singing and has a great voice for crooning and country. If Michael didn't love acting so much, he would likely switch to full-time treasure hunting.
