Rique has been a well-rounded artist since childhood. Armed with just a VHS camcorder and action figures, he began creating stop-motion films, scripting scenes for his neighborhood friends, and making videos for YouTube back in its early days. His passion for performance blossomed further in high school, where he immersed himself in musical theater and drama programs. Over four years of dedicated acting classes, he earned Honor Thespian recognition along with awards for Rising Star and Best Actor.
Since moving to Los Angeles, Rique has built an impressive portfolio, working on numerous films, television shows, and viral internet content. His work has been featured on major networks such as ABC, MTV, Freeform, and Oxygen, as well as in GQ, among others. He is perhaps best known for starring in the MVA-nominated music video for Duke Dumont's chart-topping, #1 dance hit single, "Need U (100%)," which dominated the UK charts, topped Billboard's dance charts in the US, and was nominated for a Grammy. The video continues to be a global sensation across the internet and music channels.
Rique also starred in Duke Dumont's follow-up video for his second Grammy-nominated single, "I Got U," which has garnered over 350 million views on YouTube. In 2015, the video was nominated for a Brit Award for British Artist Video of the Year, competing against the likes of Calvin Harris, Ed Sheeran and Charli XCX.
