‘Partner Track’ and ‘The Imperfects’ Both Canceled By Netflix After One Season
Image
Netflix has canceled two of its freshman drama series: “Partner Track” and “The Imperfects.”

“Partner Track” premiered in late August of this year, while “The Imperfects” came in early September. Both made appearances on the Netflix Top 10 and stayed there for three weeks, with the former peaking in the No. 4 position and the latter peaking at No. 3.

Based on Helen Wan’s 2013 novel of the same name, “Partner Track” was a legal drama starring Arden Cho as Ingrid Yun, a young lawyer caught between her moral compass and her passions as she climbs the partner track at an elite New York law firm.

Georgia Lee served as showrunner, and executive produced alongside Kristen Campo and writer Kim Shumway. Directors included Julie Anne Robinson, Tanya Wexler, Adam Brooks, Lily Mariye, Kevin Berlandi. Wan consulted.

Plan de carrière (2022)
‘Partner Track’ Star Arden Cho Reflects on the Diversity in the Netflix Series: ‘We Just Dive In and We Get to Tell Our Stories’
Plan de carrière (2022)
Netflix’s upcoming romantic dramedy series “Partner Track,” set at a Manhattan-based white-shoe law firm, has been described as “Sex and the City” meets “Suits,” but for star Arden Cho the series is unlike any other that she’s seen on television. That’s because the story centers on a first-generation Korean American merger and acquisitions lawyer, Ingrid Yun (Cho), as she navigates everything from forbidden romance to microaggressions at the male-dominated company — something Cho said is hard to come by in shows about single 20-something women in New York City.

“Ingrid just sticks out to begin with,” Cho told TheWrap. “She is an Asian American woman, and there is some diversity at the firm but it’s very clearly noted. You’ve just got, ‘Oh, we’ve got a couple of people of color. Let’s stick them together, and that’s your diversity,‘ which is something we see happening in the world.

With the support of her friends, she battles through workplace challenges to break through the glass ceiling on her path to become partner. But will her drive and ambition leave room for love?

The 100 Season 7 Episode 15 Review: The Dying of The Light
Nicolas Cage in La sentinelle (2014)
What do you do when a show proves that things only get so bad before they get even worse?

If all this led to the final message that The 100 is trying to portray, they finally accomplished it. It is very clear that this whole season was just proof that there is no hope left for humanity.

Because if these are the choices that The 100 wants to make in its final season, there is nothing left to fight for.

This journey was nothing more than impossible decisions and a tragic end to a story that many once loved.

During The 100 Season 7 Episode 15, everyone is divided as they try to deal with their own issues. Murphy, Raven, and Jackson find themselves fighting to find the Anomaly stone so they can save Emori's life.

Meanwhile, Clarke and Octavia try to get to Bardo to save Madi and stop Cadogan. Unfortunately, that doesn't end...

The 100 Season 7 Episode 12 Trailer, Release Date, News
Image
The 100 Season 7 is here!

Sadly, this will be the last outing for The 100. CW President Mark Pedowitz confirmed during the network’s 2019 Summer TCA press tour appearance that The 100 season 7 will be the show’s final season, though it may live on in a prequel series.

As a midseason premiere, The 100 was one of the lucky shows to wrap up production before the Covid-19 hit, so we will be getting an entire season of the science fiction drama. Production on Season 7 started back up in August and wrapped in March, so the entire season is good to go, unlike some other CW productions that had to shut down production before the season finished.

Here’s our review of the latest episode, “Etherea.”

What’s next? “The Stranger.” Check out the promo below…

Here’s the synopsis…

“Clarke, Octavia, Raven and Echo struggle with a new foe.”

All the A-List Directors Who Backed John Boyega After His Impassioned #Blm Speech
Anthony Daniels, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, James Earl Jones, David Prowse, and Kenny Baker in Star Wars: Épisode IV - Un nouvel espoir (1977)
“Star Wars” actor John Boyega gave an impassioned speech at a Black Lives Matter rally in London on Wednesday, telling a crowd through tears that black lives “have always been important.” Boyega, who played Finn in the last three “Star Wars” movies, said near the end of his speech, “I don’t know if I’ll have a career after this,” but that he was speaking from his heart.

But A-list directors soon reached out on social media to say they supported the British actor.

As the video started to go viral, Matthew A. Cheery, the Oscar-winning director of “Hair Love,” offered his support and tweeted, “I would work with John Boyega and I urge other Non-Black creators to affirm that they have his back as well.”

Based on the myriad of creators and filmmakers who responded, Boyega’s career will be absolutely fine.

“Get Out” director Jordan Peele tweeted,...

The 100 Season 7 Poster: A Tale As Old As Time
Eliza Taylor
It is all in the details, especially the ones that you don't see.

Or at least that's what the official The 100 Season 7 poster must want us to believe as it radiates mystery, nostalgia, and misdirection.

Leading up to the premiere of the final season of the show, there isn't must fans do know for sure about where the storylines are heading.

But it is clear that wherever it is, it won't be what anyone expects.

The poster for the last season was teased first by executive producer Kim Shumway earlier last week.

This serves as a supplement to the previously released full trailer for The 100 Season 7.

But in a surprise twist of events, Apple TV had a new banner to release for the season too, which means fans have gotten twice as many hints at the new season through the posters.

So any hints that are hiding out in this poster,...

The 100 Season 6 Episode 12 Review: Adjustment Protocol
Everything is a mess but it can only get better from here, right? Maybe.

During The 100 Season 6 Episode 12, a war broke out in Sanctum while Russell rushed to make sure hosts existed for their missing Primes.  This results in Abby losing her life and becoming Simone for the time being.

Meanwhile, Gabriel arrives in Sanctum and faces off against Russell. And the group gets broken up, with some of them ending up in space and the others fighting off the red sun toxin bomb on the ground.

"Adjustment Protocol," written by the returning Kim Shumway and the well-known Antonio Negret was a chaotic victim of the too many storylines in one episode problem. Emotional beats and storytelling twists came left and right, but the pace became almost too quick for the episode that gathers everything up for the finale.

There were those strong and impactful moments, yet the bigger picture...

The 100 Season 6 Episode 7 Review: Nevermind
So in another life, Clarke Griffin, Bellamy Blake, and Monty Green would have binge-watched Stranger Things together. But in this life, those three are just out here saving lives and cracking codes.

Nobody else could have stood a chance.

During The 100 Season 6 Episode 7, Clarke sees some familiar people as she faces off against Josephine. They interact while Josephine is sleeping, with a common goal to access and protect a memory driving them both.

As Josephine explores Clarke's mind, our favorite lead gets the chance to learn more about Josephine as well. This leads to her figuring out a way to alert Bellamy that she isn't dead.

Bellamy picks up on that really quickly and enlists Miller to figure out next steps with no one else the wiser.

"Nevermind," written by the returning Kim Shumway took on the challenge of using a bottle episode to tell an even more character focused and contained story.

No happy endings: lesbian and bisexual characters on TV
facebook

twitter

google+

TV has a problem with the disproportionate number of lesbian and bisexual characters killed off on screen. Spoilers...

Contains spoilers for Buffy, The 100, Pretty Little Liars, Skins, Sleepy Hollow, Torchwood, ER, Carol and Last Tango In Halifax.

The phenomenon of lesbian and bisexual women characters being killed off disproportionately on screen is not new.

Back in the 1930s, the Hays Motion Picture Production Code established that “immoral acts” in Hollywood films had to be followed by appropriately punishing consequences, and this idea that “perversion” should never be rewarded spread to other modes of storytelling, to the extent that Patricia Highsmith’s 1952 novel The Price Of Salt – recently adapted as the critically acclaimed movie Carol – was considered game-changing for including a happy ending for Carol and Therese.

Satisfying conclusions for romances between women shouldn’t still be a surprise, but when Carol was released in cinemas last winter,...

The 100, Ep. 2.14, “Bodyguard of Lies” spotlights burgeoning relationships
The 100, Season 2, Episode 14, “Bodyguard of Lies”

Written by Kim Shumway

Directed by Uta Briesewitz

Airs Wednesdays at 9pm (Et) on The CW

On this week’s The 100, Clarke and Lexa have a heated disagreement, Octavia discovers the truth about the missile attack, and Wick and Raven help Bellamy shut down the acid fog.

“Bodyguard of Lies” marks the beginning of the attack on the Mountain Men, but that isn’t why the episode is notable; instead, the most important moment of the episode is a kiss between Clarke and Lexa, two powerful and complex female characters (and leaders). The 100 is unafraid to push boundaries and to throw moral dilemmas at the audience and the show’s characters, but this episode reveals just how willing the show is to be revolutionary. Because, yes, having a bisexual female lead on television is a revolutionary move.

The scene, and the pair’s growing relationship,...
