‘Ghosts’, ‘The Neighborhood’ & ‘Bob ♥ Abishola’ Renewed By CBS For 2022-23 Season
Image
For a second year in a row, CBS is starting off its bulk renewals with nods to Monday comedies The Neighborhood and Bob ♥ Abishola. This time around, the established duo — renewed for Seasons 5 and 4, respectively — is joined by red-hot comedy newcomer Ghosts, which has received an early second season renewal.

With Young Sheldon in Year 1 of a three-season pickup, CBS has secured its top four comedy series — which also are the four most watched comedy series on broadcast TV — for next season: #1 Young Sheldon, #2 Ghosts, #3 The Neighborhood and #4 Bob ♥ Abishola.

Also for the second consecutive year, a decision on Thursday sophomore comedies B Positive and United States of Al, both from Young Sheldon EP Chuck Lorre, is being pushed to later in the season. Last year, it came down to the wire, but both sitcoms ultimately were renewed. Of the two, United States of Al currently has a slight edge...

‘The Lost Symbol’ Review: Dan Brown’s Novels Come Together in Bland Peacock Adaptation
Image
It’s been five years since audiences last saw Dan Brown’s character Robert Langdon in the 2016 feature film “Inferno” and it honestly feels like a moment in time that can’t be recreated. It’s hard to describe the events of 2003 to someone who didn’t feverishly rush out to read Brown’s “The Da Vinci Code,” one of the most popular books at the time, equally loved and castigated for its claims about Jesus being married and having children. The eventual adaptation in 2006, starring Tom Hanks, didn’t have as much controversy as the novel, but it did have plenty of its own success.

Now, though, it’s hard to remember what all the fuss was about. Considering the landscape of both books and television, it’s hard not to feel like a TV series devoted to Brown’s character is arriving a few years past its expiration date.
