Today, Paramount+ revealed the official trailer and premiere date for its highly anticipated documentary, The Carters: Hurts to Love You. The two-part documentary will premiere on Tuesday, April 15, exclusively on Paramount+.

The Carters: Hurts to Love You takes a deeply personal look at the soaring success and heartbreaking struggles of a family propelled into the spotlight by the meteoric rise of the musical careers of two brothers, Nick Carter (Backstreet Boys) and the late pop sensation Aaron Carter.

From director Soleil Moon Frye (Kid 90) and produced by See It Now Studios and Candle True Stories, the documentary unravels the deeply moving story of the Carter family, told by Angel Carter Conrad, the singers’ sister. For the first time, Angel Carter Conrad is sitting down with brother Nick Carter as part of her upcoming documentary, “The Carters: Hurts to Love You.”

In the new trailer for the Paramount+ documentary, Aaron Carter’s twin sister, Angel, tells the story of her family’s many ups and downs through the years — from the rise of Nick’s career with the Backstreet Boys and Aaron’s as a solo artist to the tragic death of three of their siblings.

From director Soleil Moon Frye and produced by See It Now Studios and Candle True Stories, the two-part doc “features intimate conversations between the only surviving Carter siblings, Angel and Nick, who confront their complex childhood and the profound tragedies that marked their family” as well as never-before-seen home videos, photographs, audio recordings and private text messages.

The CW has ordered ten episodes of “Crime Nation,” an anthology series focused on true-crime and justice. Set to debut in early 2024, “Crime Nation” will delve into real-life mysteries, cold cases and investigations.

Each two-hour episode will include new details and exclusive interviews from ripped-from-the-headlines stories, including the Delphi murders, the Lori Vallow Daybell case, the Gabby Petito murder and the Gilgo Beach murders.

“As the first true crime series in the history of The CW, ‘Crime Nation’ will provide a fresh new spin on the genre, giving viewers a deeper look into a variety of thrilling and compelling cases,” The CW’s head of unscripted programming Heather Olander said in a statement. “The social media conversation around true crime is bigger than ever, and the ‘Crime Nation’ team will explore the relationship between the public narrative and official investigations for each case.”

James Goldston To Produce Docuseries ‘Crime Nation’ For The CW

The CW is officially moving into true-crime.

The broadcaster has ordered Crime Nation, a 10-part series, from former ABC News president James Goldston.

It comes after Deadline revealed that the Nexstar-owned network was developing its own true-crime strand in the vein of NBC’s Dateline, CBS’ 48 Hours and ABC’s 20/20.

The series, which will premiere in 2024, will follow mysteries, cold cases and investigations. Each episode will be two hours long and will feature ripped-from-the-headlines stories and interviews.

New book discussing masculinity in Bollywood released
A new book discussing how masculinity is represented in Bollywood has been published. The book, entitled Popular Masculine Cultures in India: Critical Essays, has been edited by Rohit K Dasgupta, associate lecturer and doctoral student at University of the Arts London, and Digital Spy's own Steven Baker, a UK academic and journalist based in India. Describing the key themes of the volume, Baker said: "Bollywood is the dominant popular culture in India and the way masculinity is depicted in Hindi films is quite different to how it is presented in the West. "The Bollywood hero breaking into song and dance, shedding tears, and being so closely attached to his mother, are signs of masculinity synonymous with Indian cinema."
