Corey Champagne was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga, where his desire to fulfill a career in Entertainment took shape. Named after character Corey Baker of the groundbreaking '60s series Julia. It seemed that from birth he was destined for the spotlight.

His breakout came when he starred as Kadeuce Porter in the Emmy winning Netflix limited series Seven Seconds alongside Regina King and Russell Hornsby for which he received critical acclaim. His work earned him a Black Reel Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series/TV Movie. Corey has been featured in multiple Film and TV projects including The CW's supernatural drama The Originals in addition to various theater productions.

Although naturally gifted, Corey credits his formal acting training to the renowned Alliance Theatre starting at age six. While attending Alliance he was selected as a Junior Player and won the lead in the play The Case of the Missing Metaphors. As a graduate of North Springs Arts & Science Charter School (notable alumni include Usher & Raven-Symone), he immersed himself in multiple facets of the arts including Drama,Chorus, Photography, Broadcasting and Musical Theatre. He was chosen one of select student composers to write & star in a music video for the John Lennon Tour Bus. Fiercely determined to be heard, Corey performed every chance he got. Notably, he successfully won over the notorious crowd at the World Renowned Apollo Theatre's Amateur Night in Harlem,NY.

Corey attended Florida A&M University where he worked with the schools budding Music and Entertainment Industry Studies program before eventually transferring to Georgia State University majoring in Film.
