As President Donald Trump calls on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) to ramp up arrests and deportations in America’s biggest cities, because they are the “Democrat Power Center,” he and his administration are eyeing Illinois for the next militarized crackdown.
“Chicago is next, if they go too far,” a senior Trump administration official tells Rolling Stone. “The second they do, the president is prepared to prove that nobody is above the law.”
Senior administration officials are “closely monitoring” the anti-Trump and anti-ice protest movement in Chicago, according to two...

“The View” host Ana Navarro passionately defended Sen. Alex Padilla on Monday morning, pushing back hard against claims that he disrupted Kristi Noem’s press briefing for attention.
To kick off the days Hot Topics, the ABC hosts fumed at the recent treatment of Democratic elected officials, ranging from Padilla’s detainment to the murder and attempted murder of two Minnesota representatives. Touching on Padilla’s circumstances specifically, Navarro noted that she knows the man personally, and she would be hard pressed to believe he attended the event for any attention-seeking reasons.
“He is the least performative elected official I know,” she said. “He is serious, he is deliberate, he feels authentically, he is soft-spoken. He wasn’t there to create a media moment, he was there representing his constituents, and the Latinos and people in his community that are being dragged through the streets.”
“The babies that are being taken away from mothers,...

Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” wouldn’t just force millions of poor people off their health insurance and food assistance to help pay for more tax cuts for the rich.
The Trump tax bill would steer tens of billions of dollars to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) for detention capacity, employee bonuses, and to hire new agents. It would supercharge Ice’s ability to conduct raids, and allow the administration to expand the campaign of terror it’s waging on immigrants in Los Angeles to blue cities around the country.

Donald Trump has long fantasized about deploying the U.S. military to various Democratic strongholds across the country, regardless of whether the elected liberals there want him to or not. He’s finally starting to get his wish, less than six months into a second term defined by his drive to rule the nation with unchecked power.
The president authorized the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles over the weekend, in response to street protests against the recent federal wave of immigration raids and reports of arrests at routine immigration check-ins.

Love Actually actor Meg Wynn Owen had £65,000 stolen from her by friend and costume designer, a judge has ruled.
Owen died aged 82 in June this year. She suffered from dementia and was moved into a care home in Cardiff, Wales, in 2015.
According to Wales Online, her move came months after her friend Brian Malam, 60, was named her power of attorney due to her dementia in 2014.
Owen appeared in films including Love Actually, and Pride & Prejudice. She also made an appearance in Doctor Who, as well as the series Upstairs Downstairs.
Malam had pleaded guilty to fraud when he appeared in court for sentencing. He received a sentence of 32 months in prison.
Delivering Malam’s sentence, a judge said that the costume designer had abused the legal powers that he had been granted and “betrayed” a friend of his.
