Emmanuel Ohene Boafo is a multi-award winning actor.
Directly after his graduation from the distinguished Acting Academy Maastricht in the summer of 2018, he was offered a permanent contract at The National Theater where he played in numerous beautiful plays. His striking talent didn't go unrecognized; for his role in Ondertussen in Casablanca he won the Guido the Moor Award for Best Young Actor in 2017. In 2020 he won the Henriëtte Hunstinx Award for Most Promising Actor, and the following year he won the Louis d'Or, the most prestigious theater acting award in the Netherlands, for his English-spoken solo performance Sea Wall.
Most recently, he has played in the play A Case for the Existence of God for which he was nominated for the Theo D'or Award. Both projects were directed by Erik Whien.
In addition to his work in theater, he has starred in various films and was nominated for a Golden Calf Award in 2022 for Best Supporting Actor in the film White Berry, in 2023 for Best Supporting Actor in the international feature El Houb and in 2024 he was nominated for Best Leading Actor in the feature Pariah.
