John Silver
American professional wrestler. Debuted in 2007 and has competed for New York Wrestling Connection, Impact Championship Wrestling (New York City), CHIKARA, CZW, EVOLVE, Dragon Gate USA, Pro Wrestling Syndicate, Full Impact Pro (Florida), Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, WWE, WrestleJam, the East Coast Wrestling Association, Wrestling Is Fun!, Wrestling Is Respect, Beyond Wrestling, and several other promotions. At "CHIKARA Caught in the Spider's Den" on February 26, 2012, he debuted as the Shard, part of GEKIDO, with 17 (Kyle Matthews) and the Swarm (assailANT (Nelson Ortiz), combatANT and deviANT). He was supposed to be the evil counterpart of Jigsaw (Ed McGuckin). In this role, he made his iPPV debut in the Mike Quackenbush/Jigsaw/Colony (Soldier Ant and Green Ant)/Eddie Kingston-GEKIDO match at "CHIKARA Chikarasaurus Rex: How to Hatch A Dinosaur" on June 2, 2012. Mike Quackenbush's campaign on revenge against GEKIDO for injuring wrestlers (including retiring Dragonfly and destroying Tianlong in his only match ever) led to Jigsaw going rudo (heel) on Quackenbush and forming a team with the Shard that would come to be named Pieces of Hate. They defeated 3.0 ("Big Magic" Shane Matthews (Matt Menard) and Scott Jagged Parker (Jeff Parker)) for the CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas (tag team titles) at "CHIKARA Aniversario: Never Compromise" on June 2, 2013, which was the night of the shutdown. GEKIDO, with a replacement 17, reformed and tore down Wrestling Is Intense on September 15, 2013. This was part of the Flood's campaign of destroying all the Wrestling Is... promotions. At "CHIKARA The World Is Not Enough," the Throwbacks (Dasher Hatfield and "Mr. Touchdown" Mark Angelosetti) defeated Pieces of Hate for the CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas in Pieces of Hate's only title defense. At "CHIKARA On Her Majesty's Secret Service" on November 15, 2014, the Spectral Envoy (UltraMantis Black/Hallowicked/Frightmare) and the Batiri (Obariyon and Kodama) defeated the Flood team of 17, the Shard, Deucalion (Stephen King), Jimmy Jacobs (Christopher Scoville) and Volgar (Lucas Calhoun). After the match, Deucalion grabbed Frightmare for the Chokebreaker, but 17 punched Deucalion. Deucalion looked to punish Jacobs but was convinced to let him go. Deucalion instead gave the Shard the Chokebreaker, killing off the character. On June 17, 2012, Rob Grymes (John Silver) and Dan Delaney (Dan Eckos) made their lone WWE appearance getting squashed by Ryback (Ryan Reeves) at "WWE No Way Out 2012." Silver continues to compete for a variety of promotions as himself. Along with holding the CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas as the Shard, he is a former NYWC Fusion Champion, a former NYWC Heavyweight Champion, a former 2x PWS Tag Team Champion with Pat Buck as the Lone Rangers, a former CZW World Tag Team Champion and a former PWG World Tag Team Champion with Alex Reynolds as the Beaver Boys and a former FTW (Fight the World Wrestling in New York City) Gen-X Champion.
