Maria Kallio returns to work from maternity leave when her child with Antti Sarkela, Iida, is just over six months old. Antti stays home to look after Iida. Maria returns to work and finds that Ström has been a good substitute to Maria. For Koivu, Maria's return to work is controversial. Koivu feels left out of the big developments in Maria's life, and it hurts him. Maria has always wanted to keep both Koivu and Antti in her life, one at work and one at home, but Koivu's falling in love with Anu Wallin, who replaces Ström, changes Maria's plans.
