Dave Bautista's Long-Awaited Action Movie 'Trap House' Finally Sets Release Date
Image
Dave Bautista is gearing up for his next feature film project, with a director, writer, and cast already assembled for the upcoming production. The actor has had a quiet year as of late, as Bautista's only major film released this year was the Paul W.S. Anderson film In The Lost Lands, which Bautista starred in alongside Milla Jovovich, which received poor reviews upon its release. Now, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor will star in another action film in what sounds like an exciting ensemble piece with impressive talent behind it.

According to a new report from Deadline,Trap House will have a wide theatrical release on November 14. The newly launched U.S. distribution company Aura Entertainment is handling the release. The film also reunites Bautista with a previous collaborator on a comedy film released in 2019.

Trap House will be directed by Michael Dowse, who directed the 2019 comedy Stuber,...

The "Freeridge" Cast Say "On My Block" Fans Won't Be Disappointed: "It's Honestly the Same"
Image
Fans of Netflix's "On My Block" were passionate about the slice-of-life show that followed the lives of four friends in Freeridge, CA, as they navigated high school, romance, and socioeconomic hardships. The show ended in the fall of 2021 after four critically acclaimed seasons, and it's safe to say the young cast taking on the mantle of a brand-new core four in its spinoff, "Freeridge," - Keyla Monterroso Mejia (Gloria), Tenzing Norgay Trainor (Cameron), Ciara Riley Wilson (Demi), and Bryana Salaz (Ines) - have quite the legacy to live up to. However, they're the perfect group of up-and-comers to take on the challenge, because they love "On My Block" just as much as its fans.

"'On My Block' is so special. These characters, the actors who portrayed them are so special," Mejia tells Popsugar of the original show, admitting she would probably have doubts about the series if...

Meet "Freeridge"'s New Core 4 in the Final Trailer For the "On My Block" Spinoff
Image
If you're an "On My Block" fan and thought the show's fourth and final season was the last you'd see of the California town the coming-of-age series is set in, we have good news: Netflix's straight-to-series "On My Block" spinoff, "Freeridge," is finally here.

"Freeridge," which premiered its first season on Feb. 2, features a cast full of fresh faces to fill the void "On My Block" quartet Monse (Sierra Capri), Ruby (Jason Genao), Jamal (Brett Gray), and Cesar (Diego Tinoco) left behind. Although the spinoff is named after the fictitious town "On My Block" took place in, "Freeridge" explores an unseen side of the inner-city neighborhood with our new core four - Gloria (Keyla Monterroso Mejia), Ines (Bryana Salaz), Cam (Tenzing Norgay Trainor), and Demi (Ciara Riley Wilson).

On Jan. 6, Netflix released the first trailer for the series. In it, the gang are convinced that they've unleashed a curse...

‘Freeridge’ Review: Angst and Hijinks an Endearing Mix in Netflix’s Buoyant Teen Series
Image
To read the logline of Freeridge, you might assume it’d fit neatly into Netflix’s extensive catalog of supernatural teen shows, alongside Wednesday or Stranger Things. Its central premise involves a curse, one that our 15ish-year-old heroes fear has befallen them thanks to a mysterious old box and their increasingly desperate efforts to undo its effects.

But the “ooky-spooky” stuff turns out to be less the main event than the clothesline on which the On My Block spinoff hangs its real, relatable concerns: the uncertainty of the future, the confusion of young love, the comfort and the burden of family. And while Freeridge emerges as a lighter show than its predecessor, it shares the same empathetic heart, playful sense of humor and, above all, deeply endearing affection for its young leads.

The unofficial leader of Freeridge‘s central quartet is Gloria (Keyla Monterroso Mejia), the type of problem-solving go-getter...
