The prestigious Itfs Awards 2025, organized by renowned social and cultural figure Dattatraya Mane, was held at Y.B. Chavan Auditorium, Nariman Point, Mumbai. The event witnessed the presence of several eminent personalities from the fields of entertainment, music, social work, and administration.

Bulawayo, June 21 (Ians) Aqib Ilyas, Shoaib Khan and Mohammad Nadeem struck half-centuries each as Oman coasted to a comfortable five-wicket victory over UAE in their Men’s Odi World Cup Qualifier Group B match at Bulawayo Athletic Club, here on Wednesday.

Electing to bowl first, Jay Odedra (3/31), Bilal Khan (2/46) and Fayyaz Butt (2/49) took seven wickets between themselves to restrict UAE to 227/8 in 50 overs. With the bat, Ilyas (53), Shoaib (52 not out) and Nadeem (50 not out) along with a quick 41 from Ayaan Khan took Oman home with five wickets in hand and four overs to spare.

Bulawayo, June 19 (Ians) Kashyap Prajapati, Aqib Ilyas and captain Zeeshan Maqsood struck half-centuries as Oman made the first upset victory of the Men’s Odi World Cup qualifiers by chasing down 282 against a much-fancied Ireland with five wickets in hand and 11 balls to spare at the Bulawayo Athletic Club on Monday.

The five-wicket victory over Ireland is Oman’s first-ever victory over a Test nation in an Odi, triggering jubilant scenes in the team dugout as the gulf nation completed their highest-ever successful run chase in the format, throwing Group B wide open.

A flurry of lower-order runs took Ireland to 281/7, with George Dockrell slamming a career-best 91 while Harry Tector made 52, though the side played a whopping 157 dot balls in their innings.

Mumbai, June 14 (Ians) Andre Russell, Chris Gayle, Harbhajan Singh, Shahid Afridi and Shakib Al Hasan are among some of the marquee players, who were drafted on Wednesday for the upcoming Global T20 Canada 2023.

The league, which returns for the first time in four seasons, will be played from July 20 to August 6 in Brampton, Ontario. It will feature six franchises playing 25 matches over the course of 18 days.

Winnipeg Hawks and Edmonton Royals, two franchises who were there in the tournament in 2019, no longer exist and are now replaced by Surrey Jaguars and Mississauga Panthers respectively.

Each squad consists of 16 players from full and Icc associate member nations. These squads include six international players including two marquee stars, four players from Associate Nations and six Canadian cricketers.

Shakib, Russell and Chris Lynn will turn up for Montreal Tigers. Harbhajan will headline for Brampton Wolves this season along with former New Zealand all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme.

Harare/Bulawayo, June 13 (Ians) The opening set of warm-up fixtures ahead of the Icc Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe saw the home nation get off to a winning start thanks to an inspired performance by Sikandar Raza, while there were wins elsewhere for Ireland, Sri Lanka and West Indies.

Ten teams will compete in the qualifying tournament in Zimbabwe over the next month, with the final two spots up for grabs at the Icc Men’s Cricket World Cup in India later this year.
