Dean Komondorea

Dean Komondorea was born and raised a New Yorker. His grandparents arrived at Ellis Island during the 1920's after sailing across the seas from a small town in Greece, named Skoura, sitting on a crate of olives. Like most Greeks, he comes from a line of family-owned businesses. His grandparents were Chocolatiers, where he loved dipping the candies in the melted chocolate basin and watching them make all sorts of candies and ice cream. Dean grew up in a Mom and Pop diner working and pulling pranks on their customers.
He married young, had 3 daughters and had a blast playing house, tea time and giving them rides in a wheelbarrow. It wasn't until his daughters were grown when his youngest asked him to take acting lessons with her. So they ventured into the city on the weekends to take classes. The best part of that experience was spending quality time with his daughter sharing a common passion.
Being always drawn to the arts he started guitar lessons in the 4th grade. In 6th grade, he and a couple other guys started up a band. Their debut was playing at the school concert. During high school years, Dean along with other classmates wrote comedic skits they acted out at their annual class night shows.
His first full production was in college where he was casted for the role of Fyedka in Fiddler on the Roof. After his college years, he performed with a country line dance team doing shows throughout the NY Catskill resorts. One year, they got up the nerve to participate in a national competition where they were awarded 1st place for the Waltz category and 3rd place for the line dancing category.
He has had a great journey ever since. He enjoyed performing on stage in NY and regional theaters; and has been seen in international television episodic, commercials and indie films.
He is enjoying his life's journey and thrilled to bring all his experiences to the characters he plays. He treats each day as a gift and wishes we all take the time to find the hidden treasures it brings.
