Amanda Knox has been one of the biggest sources of fascination in the true crime world, and she is getting another crack at a fictionalized interpretation of her story. Hulu has released a teaser for The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, set to premiere on the streamer August 20. The series will reunite Grace Van Patten with Hulu after her captivating portrayal of Lucy in the unstable romantic drama, Tell Me Lies. The teaser for TheTwisted Tale of Amanda Knox is only 15 seconds, but it is jam-packed with harrowing visuals depicting the infamous case.
“Many people think they know my story,” Van Patten narrates as the accused murderer gets pulled from a police van, “but now it’s my turn to tell it.” The trailer shows Knox’s treatment by authorities and the media circus that the case became. Hollywood’s entertainment industry has delivered quite a few real-life-based documentary pieces over the years, but perhaps hardly any of them have proven to be as harrowing as the titular story of Amanda Knox. Released back in 2016, that Netflix documentary has fascinated many people over the years, and now, it seems to be an even more must-watch piece.
This increased fame of the rated 82% on Rotten Tomatoes documentary comes in light of the recently released episode of the Joe Rogan Experience. This is because, appearing in the same, the real Knox shared a key detail of her story of how she coped after twice being convicted and later acquitted of the 2007 murder of Meredith Kercher after proving her innocence.

The team behind Laid couldn’t be happier to have included Amanda Knox in the Peacock comedy series.
Adapted from the Australian project of the same name, the show centers on Ruby (Stephanie Hsu), who realizes that her previous lovers are dying and sets out to understand why this is happening. Zosia Mamet co-stars as Ruby’s best friend Aj, while other castmembers include Michael Angarano and Tommy Martinez.
One surprising member of the cast is Knox, who makes an appearance in the final episode of the first season that is currently streaming. Knox became a public figure after she was convicted and then ultimately acquitted of the 2007 murder of her roommate in Italy. Co-showrunner Sally Bradford McKenna describes herself to The Hollywood Reporter as a big true-crime fan who saw Knox as the right fit for a role, given the series’ story.
“I’m obsessed with her,” Bradford McKenna says of Knox.

How many stories of Amanda Knox do we really need? At least one more, according to Hulu, whose new eight-part series Blue Moon has begun filming in Italy, sparking backlash from the residents of Perugia, where Meredith Kercher was found murdered back in 2007. A 20-year-old Knox and her then-lover, Raffaele Sollecito, were convicted of killing Knox's roommate 17 years ago, and subsequently spent four years in an Italian prison before their release in 2011 due to shoddy police work. She was later acquitted by the Italian Supreme Court in 2015, and has since gone on to become an author and activist.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, residents of Perugia have shown up in full force to the production, displaying banners that read "Rispetto per Meredith," which translates to "Respect for Meredith." The dramatization stars Grace Van Patten (Tell Me Lies), and will air on Hulu next year, with Knox now 37 on board as an executive producer.

The presence of those working on Hulu‘s Amanda Knox series in the Italian city of Perugia is prompting backlash after filming began near where student Meredith Kercher was found stabbed to death 17 years ago.
Residents displayed banners reading “Rispetto per Meredith” (respect for Meredith) around the city as cast and crew members for Blue Moon — executive produced by Knox herself — arrived to get production underway.
The eight-part drama, starring Grace Van Patten (Tell Me Lies), will air on the Disney-owned streaming service and detail Knox’s battle to clear her name when she was convicted of the 21-year-old’s murder in 2007.
After substantial flaws were uncovered in the initial police investigation, Knox and Italian ex-partner Raffaele Sollecito were released from prison in 2011 and definitively acquitted by the Italian Supreme Court in 2015. Hulu’s Amanda Knox series is causing an uproar in the Italian city of Perugia, where the show – executive produced by Knox herself – has been filming 17 years after the murder of Meredith Kercher.
The arrival of the show’s cast and crew last week in the university town, where Knox’s British roommate was found dead in their room on Nov. 2, 2007, has prompted angry locals to put up banners that read “Rispetto per Meredith” (“Respect for Meredith”). The outcry has led the city’s mayor, Vittoria Ferdinandi, to issue a letter of apology to Perugia citizens, which was published in Italian newspapers.
“We could have not authorized the filming of five scenes in Perugia,” the Perugia mayor said in the letter, “but they would have been filmed in any other town in our region.”

Amanda Knox broke down in tears during an Italian television interview this week, insisting she had “nothing to hide” after failing to overturn her slander conviction related to the 2007 murder of her British roommate.
The 36-year-old Knox became choked up as she told Sky TG24 that she has been “unjustly accused for 17 years… my entire adult life.”
“From the beginning I just wanted to do the right thing and tell the truth,” Knox said, adding that she is a “victim” with “nothing to hide.”
Knox also became audibly emotional on her podcast Labyrinths, saying she has “been here before” pouring her heart out in court only to be “torn down.”
She expressed confusion over last week’s ruling by Italy’s highest court, which reinstated her slander conviction for falsely accusing bar owner Patrick Lumumba of killing her 21-year-old roommate Meredith Kercher. Knox’s three-year sentence was considered served after four years in prison.

On Wednesday, June 5, an Italian court upheld Amanda Knox‘s 2009 conviction of slander in which she falsely accused her former boss Patrick Lumumba of murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher. Two days before her latest court trial, the 36-year-old took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share that she would be defending herself once again.
Her post which was shared on June 3 read, “On June 5th, I will walk into the very same courtroom where I was reconvicted of a crime I didn’t commit, this time to defend myself yet again. I hope to clear my name once and for all of the false charges against me.” The retrial got Knox a three-year jail sentence which she will not serve because she already served 4 years following her wrongful conviction of Kercher’s murder.

Matt Damon’s new movie, Stillwater, opens by building up to a gentle but pointed bit of misdirection, the subtle sort of deviation from our expectations meant to say as much about the audience as it does about the man at the story’s center — something of an running theme for this particular movie. When we first see Bill Baker (Damon), he’s waist-deep in rubble, the recognizable but devastated remains of what used to be someone’s home. Writer-director Tom McCarthy’s movie ‘inspired’ by 2007 murder of British student Meredith Kercher reinforces conspiracy theories about the case, says Knox
Amanda Knox has accused actor Matt Damon and director Tom McCarthy of “rip[ping] off my story without my consent at the expense of my reputation” in the upcoming film Stillwater, which McCarthy has said was inspired by Knox’s experience after the 2007 murder of British student Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy.
In an essay on the online publishing platform Medium, Knox takes particular aim at McCarthy, who told Vanity Fair that Stillwater was directly inspired by the Kercher case, which resulted in Knox being wrongly convicted for Kercher’s murder along with her then boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, and spending four years in prison, before ultimately being acquitted in 2015 by Italy’s supreme court of cassation. Rudy Guede, who was sentenced to 16 years in prison in 2008, is the only person convicted of Kercher’s murder.

Facebook Watch found the perfect person to host its new show about women who've been publicly shamed: Amanda Knox, the 30-year-old who was tried for the murder of her roommate and ultimately exonerated. In the six-part docuseries The Scarlet Letter Reports, which debuted on May 2, Amanda sits down with famous female pariahs, hoping to reveal the real people behind the "two-dimensional characters" propagated by the media and the public. It wasn't long ago that Amanda was presumed guilty… Until, of course, she was proven otherwise. At 20 years old, the Seattle native was arrested after the 2007 murder of British exchange student Meredith Kercher, with whom Amanda roomed as she studied abroad in Perugia, Italy. Amanda was nicknamed "Foxy Knoxy" in the press and thought to have killed Meredith in a sex game gone wrong. In 2011, however, she had her murder conviction overthrown. She and her ex-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, were then retried and again found guilty,...

"Foxy Knoxy" is still haunting Amanda Knox. More than a decade after the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher, the 30-year-old Seattle native is still battling the public persona that was painted of her while on trial for the 2007 tragedy. Amid all the media coverage of Knox after Kercher's death and during the trial, she was painted as a young, sex-crazed American she-devil as outlets picked at her life in college before Italy, her social behavior while studying abroad, her relationship with her then-Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, and the prosecution's theories on her motives and argued participation in the murder. After her childhood nickname "Foxy Knoxy" was...

It was a dream destination 10 years ago for Amanda Knox, then a 20-year-old American studying abroad, but the town of Perugia, Italy, became for her a place of fear and terror with her arrest and wrongful conviction for the murder of 21-year-old British roommate Meredith Kercher.
Six years after her release from Italian prison, Knox, 30, tells People exclusively in this week’s issue that she is preparing to go back and reclaim the city on her own terms.
“The only way that I’m going to come full circle is by physically, literally, coming full circle,” she says. “I know...

It was an international murder case that captivated the world.
American college student Amanda Knox and her then-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, were charged with the 2007 death of 21-year-old British student Meredith Kercher, who was sexually assaulted and found fatally stabbed in the Italian apartment she shared with Knox. Both Knox and Sollecito were convicted after police said DNA evidence linked them to the crime – but then were acquitted in 2015 by Italy’s highest court because of “stunning flaws” in the investigation and a lack of evidence.

With the scope of possibility in visual effects and the boundlessness of imagination there are very few places we cannot explore in fiction nowadays… that is unless we explore stories that are stranger than fiction. Russian editing whizzes Sergei Eisenstein, Vsevolod Pudovkin, and Lev Kuleshov proved it in the earliest days of silent film: Truth rests in the eye of the beholder. In Fred Schepisi’s 1988 true drama, “A Cry in the Dark,” Meryl Streep starred as the woman who famously cried “a dingo took my baby!” to resounding disbelief in Australia. Police and others looked at her inexpressive face, surrounded by a cowl of dark hair, and decided she was guilty of murdering her child.
Similarly, the court of public opinion — as well as the courts of Italy — declared that 20-year-old party girl Amanda Knox, studying abroad in Perugia, murdered her roommate, Meredith Kercher. It took eight years, but in 2015 the Italian Supreme Court finally declared her innocent, and that she had no motive.
Who supplied her motives? According to Brian McGinn and Rod Blackhurst’s documentary “Amanda Knox” (Netflix, September 30), which took five...
