Born in Iran and raised in Vienna, Austria, Alain Ali Washnevsky showed signs of becoming a performer and storyteller early in life. After a successful career in real estate, he decided to pursue his true passion for performing and storytelling, which led him to move to Los Angeles in 2011.

By 2014, he had become a finalist in the World Championship of Public Speaking. Between 2015 and 2019, he booked 18 guest roles on US television and a short film that was nominated for an Oscar in 2016. His TV credits include dramatic roles in notable series such as "Homeland," "Scandal," "The Rookie," "Lucifer," "13 Reasons Why," and more. He has also showcased his comedic talent in "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Better Things," "The Conners," and the critically acclaimed sitcom "Roseanne," where he played the family's neighbor.

In 2020, Alain made his debut as a director and producer.

In 2022, he was a series regular on Netflix's "Alexander: Making of a God" and a recurring guest star on the upcoming spy thriller mini-series "8200," directed by Assaf Bernstein. In 2023, he appeared in all episodes of the Emmy award-winning Apple TV+ series "Tehran." Most recently, in fall 2024, he shot a supporting role in "The Accountant 2," starring Ben Affleck, and is currently (summer 2024) filming a major recurring role in "The Terminal List: Dark Wolf" for Amazon Prime in Budapest.

Alain's childhood in Vienna, the capital of classical music, fostered his love for opera and classical singing. He has performed in productions of Mozart's "Don Giovanni," "Cendrillon," and also sang the role of Don Alhambra in Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Gondoliers." He is fluent in German, English, Farsi, and conversational in French. Alain is a spiritual, well-traveled, and culturally rich artist who loves being married to his wife Morgan.
