Shemeka Wright

Shemeka Wright is a fearless multi-hyphenate talent - Actress, Writer, Director, and Producer - known for crafting emotionally rich stories that center resilience, depth, and power. With over 30 film and television credits and more than 20 years of experience, she has built a reputation as both a dynamic performer and a visionary behind the lens.

She is best known for More Than One (2019), which she directed and wrote, Unshaken: The Knock (2025), where she leads as Avery Simone while also directing and writing, her breakout role as Michelle Green in Lifetime's Secrets in the Building (2022), and her powerful performance as June in June's Crown (2023), which premiered at the prestigious American Black Film Festival (ABFF). These projects showcase her versatility, moving from intimate storytelling to gripping suspense and emotionally charged drama.

Behind the camera, she has directed over a dozen short films, including More Than One (2019, Amazon Prime release), Since I Was Five (2025), SICK (2025), and What the Hell Is Your Name Again? (2025), each one exploring raw, human stories with honesty and cinematic precision. Her work is deeply character-driven, emotionally charged, and unapologetically bold.

Her upcoming project, Unshaken: The Knock, is a vertical drama/suspense short that she wrote, produced, and stars in - a passion piece positioned to expand into a full series. This project highlights her determination to create and lead stories on her own terms.
